I wish!!!!! Live in a male house also.Hubby ds 1 33 yrs old ds2 28yrs old and grandson for 1/2 of week 4 yrs old.But do have female dog.

Have read through most of this thread and love it , and I am so jealous of you lot with shabby chic homes (mine is far from it)

But need your help ... had read a post on here which had a link to a web site with a 'boudoir sign' white made of tin and so want it , but cant find the link anymore. The web site had lost of kitchenware too .. anyone any ideas ?

Please help, desperate now

Unfortunately I never never see vintage wallpaper in charity shops. However, my mum, bless her, has just started working in one, so maybe she could keep an eye out for me.
I am so inspired by this thread - have rescued a mirror from the car boot decluttering pile and am currently painting it in eggshell. Kids are tidying their rooms as a mum's day treat! So all calm in the cluttered up aspiring-shabby chic dream household.

been having a nose on that kath kidson website......:eek: flipping heck is it me being a right tightwad or things very expensive???

if people are looking for small bits of floral material.... why dont you go to carboot sales jumbles sales ( if you are lucky enough to have them near you these days ) charity shops etc... and pick up some kids clothes... you normally find young girls clothes can be very floral, and pretty... you could cut them up

going by what textiles/clothes i get in at work.... there are loads thrown/given away and all in excellent condition... ok might be a pitty to cut them up, but at least they are being re-used in some way..

will keep a closer eye on the rag bags coming in... and see what i can find... to maybe do some patchworking ( if i get the time ..lol....) to save time might just do the patchwork straight over another old cushion cover to save some of the work...;)

i agree on the price side of it - so much cheaper to make your own and its mainly the name youre paying for like all designer stuff.

You can send for as many fabric samples as you want though and it is free, the sizes are quite big too

oooo thanks.... i have ordered a catalogue....just to be nosey and to get some ideas more than anything...lol...
