NEgirl - very smart well done !

vivw - I managed to get one original advertising picture for biscuits years ago and framed it, Had an original Nectar Tea sign (the enamel ones) given me as well many moons ago and still got that.
I bought some reproduction posters from an antique fair and aged them down with som dark oak stain - wipe it on, wipe it off,dab it here and there............gives them that 'old and mucky' look.................lol Fits in well with the rest of the house..................lol

    Coolertricker,

I didn't know thats what they were called! I have one next to my bed, it has barley twist legs. I keep the teasmade on the top of it and the phone, cups drinks underneath

I am definetely gonna look for another, we have just had a new bathroom put in and I would be able to use something like this for folding my towels on, as suggested on here:D

thanks for the inspiration everyone xxx:T

ok here goes :) It was painted in Craig & Rose Pale Mortlake Cream eggshell and the paper on the shelves was £1 from primark and i love it!! So well worth the night hours put into sanding and recoating :)dresser6.jpgdresser5.jpgdresser4.jpgits not as white irl it has a real creamy warmth to it and ignore the decorative bits on it that was just for the pics, it will house my china dishes etc once ive finished sorting the room out :)

NEgirl.... I'm gobsmacked! thats absoloutely flaming gorgeous!:D

Can you tell me how you did the painting? ie: sand paint sand paint etc.. I've painted furniture in the past but never managed to get a very fine finish.

    Thank you so much!:T

I've just bought some Laura Ashley lilac gingham wallpaper from ebay (2 rolls for 99p!!) to do the back surface (not the back iyswim) of my bedroom bookcases with.

yep only picked it up thursday morning and it didnt even make it out of the back of the car until thursday night, i was just so eager to make it over! :rotfl:

Pipkin - i gave it a sand down when i first brought it in as it had a lot of superficial scratches and marks, painted it, sanded it again and then gave it another 2 coats - not sanding in between. :) It dried really quick and i would highly recommend the Craig & Rose paints!!
