you can get both cheaper on ebay but just using nappylady as an example.
The net means you're not handling soiled nappies you just put the whole lot in the washing machine0 -
Thank you very much.:kisses3::D Sounds like something I might attempt, because you don't have to buy all these shaped nappies to see which one fits, you just build one yourself!:wall:0

dont get me wrong, shaped nappies r fab! i have 12 shaped ones (although she has nearly outgrow her 4 size 1's. Most fitted nappies are ok on most babies tbh. Its the all in ones and the wraps that you need to find to fit your baby best.
forgot to say if you want to use wool wraps, you may actually be best with pins thinking about it as im not sure if a nippa would pluck your soakers/shorties etcMost people tend to use fitted nappies under their wool, but thats not to say you cant use terries - of course you can

Hi,
I use cloth nappies atm for my 3rd child. I bought the B Mio for the first two but wouldn't use them now. I have the prefolds and wraps to be sold (open to offers).
I use a mixture of shaped nappies with wool wraps. Love this combination. You can use nippa's under the woolies no problem. I definitely have a nappy addiction!!
My boy is a heavy wetter as well and for night time I use an Ella's house bumhugger which is a hemp shaped nappy with a fleece liner, but also has a pocket which you can boost. This covered by a red totsbots fleece lasts all night with no leaking. He weighs about 3lbs heavier in the morning due to the wet weight LOL, but his bum is completely dry.
There is a great site called bumfluffnappies.com run by a really lovely woman. She's a very honest nappylady, WAHM, and won't sell you what you don't need. I buy from her.0 -
I've just been given a load of size one tots bots now too :T so I think my nappy collection is complete for the time being :rotfl:
Just a quick query and to save starting a new thread - friend has a 10 month old who is in cloth. At night she's been using Ella's House bumhuggers and a wrap and baby has been dry in the morning but the nappy is smelly (just from the wee) and when the nappy gets washed in with other nappies the whole load ends up being smelly - is there anything she can do about it? Her sister who has 18 month old twins is also having the same problem.0 -
she could try adding some lavender oil in the fabric softener drawer. Also adding some bicarb to the wash may help and having a rinse+ or extra rinse might help. Also make sure the machine isnt part of the problem by doing the odd hot wash empty with just some bicarb to clean any nasties0

Righty-ho. Thanks to you ladies I have armed myself with a few bits and bobs. Just missing the bucket and the wraps.
Why motherease wraps in particular? Most of you mention these above others. What is the wrap made of? Is it plastic? They seem very expensive... Though I haven't looked into the used ones yet...
Also - popper or velcro?:wall:0 -
motherease always come out as a good fit and seem to be the most popular wraps for any cloth user who isn't using a particular system. For a newborn or small baby I'd always go for velcro wraps as you can make them fit better but as the baby gets older the poppers are fine. Personally I've got some small wraps (bought second hand off usednappies) for the newborn rather than trying to fit him into one size ones but some use one size from the beginning. The wraps are polyester.0

Just a quick question from you experienced ladies.
I started using cloth nappies (from peachy cheeks with bambino mio wraps) and I was fine, but I have slipped off the wagon and am currently using horrid disposables.
The big thing for me (apart from not being able to get my act together at the moment) is that the cloth nappies leaked a lot. Are there any tricks or tips to reduce this? The whole house smelled of wee.
Thanks
HevAlways another chapter0
