Here is what I'm knitting at the moment...using up my bits and bobs.

Love the texture of that pattern. Think you will need to share that with us!0 -
Have given up trying to unpick. I have hidden the offending garment in the bottom of one of my craft boxes. This is the pattern which was sent free with some other yarn I had purchased.

As you can see it is not the easiest to unpick! I had more than a ball left over so I have reknitted the back and have done both the sleeves. Just need the rest of the replacement yarn to be delivered and then I can do the two fronts. Any left overs will be made into hedgehogs!

Have spent ages trying to source a pattern for a knitted shoulder bag for a 3 year old child. Tried Ravelry and other sites but no joy. Nearest I came was a crocheted one but I am not an accomplished crocheter. Any suggestions please?0

Hi hope you dont' mind me gate-crashing your thread.. I do knit but have turned my hand to crochet in recent months and after reading your comments realised I'm not alone... our wool shop closed down, I used to love visiting, something cosy and therapeutic about shelves of wool!!
I found the best DK wool is Stylecraft Special I LOVE it so soft even for baby clothes and usually order from Wool Warehouse (brilliant shop/service) but in case you're interested the wool is currently on offer for £1.59/100g ball from http://www.countrycrafts.org.uk/knittingyarns.htm0 -
Hi azzabazza have you looked on pintrest I had a quick look there for you and saw a lovely little bag in the shape of a little dolls house .
But i am really sorry I can't post a link as I have no idea how to do that but maybe you could find what I saw on pintrest yourself .I pray for patience as strength might just get me in trouble !!!!0 -

Thanks for your reply - I did have a look at Pinterest too but couldn't find anything. I need it to be traditional - an envelope shape if that makes sense!0 -

What did you search for? If it was 'bag', don't forget that Ravelry tends to default to American English and what we call a bag is a purse in the USA.
So searching for knitting + purse gets 4,997 results, filtering to 'free' (this is MSE after all!) = 1,620 purses/bags. You could also filter by age but these are the search results I got for free purses:
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/search#craft=knitting&query=purse&view=captioned_thumbs&availability=free&sort=best
Lots of envelope style bags there.
ETA: And now I have some ideas for xmas presents - thank you!0 -
Thank you so much Apollonia. I am obviously not very good at searching! Never thought to use an Americanism!0

Hi Kathynt ... not sure if you have a craft centre/shop locally but sometimes they have knitters that take custom orders and would probably be able to point you in the right direction.
For handmade/custom items I always check out Etsy they have quite a few 'shops' that will take orders for you. If you click the link you can claim £5 off your first order http://etsy.me/1qweYrm
EDIT: I've just been surfing - I found one on Etsy that maybe of interest https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/123705851/ladies-traditional-cream-aran-bobble?ref=sr_gallery_1&ga_search_query=aran+cardigan+handmade&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery I didn't realise quite how expensive handmade clothing had become!!0
