I think you have improved the original pattern because it looks so much better with buttons rather than the original pattern which has one. Your buttons are nicer too. Did you add a lot to the length?

Janb5; I've also made it with one button and the pockets in an dark creamy fleck colour. This one is made with no pockets and extra buttons!
I added a couple of inches extra I think, as I don't like half mast sleeves on a thick cardi and a bit on the length to suit me. Have to say they are my favourite cosy cardis :D

Jessie15; You wont regret making one of these, and those self covered buttons are really cheap if you fancy having a go at making those as well :T

Glad to help Jessie. Happy knitting and hope that you put a photo up of the finished cardi.

Hi. I used to knit quite a lot many years ago and recently my hands have been itching to get going again, and then last week a friend introduced me to crochet, which I am loving!

Can anyone point me in the direction of a cheapish place to buy supplies? My daughter wants to learn too, but I only have 2 very small needles so I need a couple of larger ones and a supply of cheap wool for us both to practise with.

Sorry if this has been discussed on this forum before - I went back a couple of pages and couldn't see anything

    Many thanks :)
