I do socks on sets of 4 long DPNS
I did try the shorter ones iQueen but it's like knitting with toothpicks and drove me mad!
OMG!
I've also got long (about 12") DPNs but I only use them for hats, cowls, and necklines... don't think I could manage socks! :eek:Needs, NOT wants!

IF the sleeves are 'set-in' and IF you have enough 'body' yarn, you could work rib round the armholes (like a sleeveless pullover), before adding your contrast sleeves - for a layered look.Needs, NOT wants!

(Fairly new as in only knit stitch for the past 21 years!)

This last week I was taught the purl stitch and introduced to circular needles. I am now following a pattern for the first time ever and knitting a hat! So long squares and scarves!! LOL! Although I have got a blanket and a scarf on the go. Can make them prettier now with a mix of stitches.
Still got a lot to learn though, I am baffled about what to do after the first 18cms of my hat, will have to find someone to show me how to slip stitch and knit together etc.
I adore knitting!
S1 = slip the next st from your Left needle to your Right, without working it. Normally you will put your Right needle into the st, as if you were going to Purl it. S1P = slip it Purlwise; S1K = slip it as if to Knit it: Knitwise.
K2tog = place Right needle into the next 2 sts on the Left needle and Knit them like one st, both together = 1 st on Right needle. You have dec(reased) one st.
You can look up any knitting abbreviations on Google, to find videos on how to do it, eg > knitting K2tog <.Needs, NOT wants!

Hi folks,
I want to knit a hat for a friend at work here. she's just been diagnosed with breast cancer and is about to undergo chemo.
I've bought some nice, soft Debbie Bliss yarn but can't find a nice pattern. I can knit and crochet so either would be nice.
does anyone have a good 'recipe' for one they wouldn't mind sharing please?Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
