I had my invite to Ravelry the other day but I'm struggling to find my way round it, probably just me!

Hi everyone. I've just come across another site with loads of free knitting patterns and loads of links to other sites with free patterns too. http://www.dailyknitter.com/patterns.html

I wish I hadn't found it really because I already have enough printed off to last me a lifetime!

Thanks for the Ravelry link, I got my subscription through a few days ago and can see that this is going to be a great resource for me.

I have already spotted a few things I would like to make so just need to find a) the wool b) the time c) what to make first!!

With Mother's Day coming up I thought about making something for my mum, my first though was bed socks (since I know she wears them) but not sure if this is a good idea or not with the weather "hopefully" getting warmer. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Gosh I remember those from the 80s - I did one all in black for a gothish art student friend - you had to use one 10mm and one 20mm needle or something like that - anyone remember what they were called? there was a real vogue for them for a year or so because they made is so quick for a beginner to finish a garment

Seakay - I'm going to wear mine at all the bike rallies this year. Made mine with 8mm needles and adapted a pattern from Pretty in Punk (thanks to hev)

My original one was green and purple with alot of wear n tear from getting caught on bullet belts!!

That fabulous, pink - you've done a brill job with that.

I have a pattern for something similar - a ladder-stitch effect top. Where your dropped stitches go across, on this one they go down the garment!

If anybody is interested in the pattern, I think I might be able to scan it into the comp and email it as an attachment.
