  • Morning all,

Do any of you know where I would find a knitting pattern for an old style punk holey jumper?

I was looking through some old photos and would love to have one again. I used to live in mine. :D

    Many thanks

For punk patterns there is a book called pretty in punk - can't find my copy at the moment (can't find anything at moment) it has all sorts like that but it is written in american.

Don't forget that ebay is your friend. I am trying to resist looking for dk patterns because I've seen some lovely wool, but I really don't need another project. It really is lovely wool....

  • finally found the teddy i was knitting before christmas -it had been put in a box of DVDs:mad: . did some over the weekend then it went missing again, found it stuffed under a cushion with one of the needles snapped into 3 bits:mad: so got to find another needle now before i can carry on. I have got a big bundle upstairs i got at a carboot its just finding it and going through them for the right size.

also found a cross stitch baby sampler ive started (cant remember who for) but ill get it finished up to the name and date and see who produces at aroud the time it coming to completion.

i did a few scarves christmas before last and have come across a load of scarf wool i brought at wilkinson so i might try and get them made up for next christmas.

I am resisting clicking on a link for more patterns. I really do not need any more patterns. Must repeat to self, no more patterns...

Readicut catalogue came today, with some lovely wool featured.

Desperately trying to resist that as well!

Trouble is, I will get really into knitting, then a switch will flick and all I will want to do is cross stitch but I will have loads of half finished projects around. I know myself too well.

Of course, I could just get in one lot of wool...

I do know what you mean hev, I have one of those switches too, although in my case it switches me to card making - used to be cross stitch but a problem with my wrist wont let me do that for very long.

I have just had a really good run at knitting and completed lots of baby clothes and scarves but a voice in my head recently said 'card making' and I'm knee deep in that at the moment. Trouble is I have recently caved in and bought more wool so I am honour bound to knit. There just aren't enough hours in the day (or night) for all my handicrafts.

At the moment I feel like really getting into some knitting, really, really want to knit, love a sweater I saw in a magazine...

I know what I am like, however. Mind you, today I knitted in front of my 13 month old DS and he was surprising tolerant, hardly grabbed and I managed a couple of rows on the back of my oversize tunic.

    Hmmmmm.

I can resist everything except temptation.

(BTW I really would love to get into card making, but daren't start as we are knee deep in clutter as it is!)

I've decided to knit a premature baby jacket with some 4 ply that's in a suitcase upstairs. Got the pattern from the site mentioned in post 6 of this thread by bertha. The hospital she mentions is in my area so it seems fitting to do that. Going to make this one. I've made the instructions a bit easier to understand, so if anyone's thinking of making one I can send the ammended instructions on.

Well guys, it's finished and it's absolutely tiny! This is what it looks like. Just need to add 3 buttons.

  • soba that jacket is so cute, it will warm the heart of some very little littley - well done you.

hev - cardmaking = clutter. I do try to keep it organized and put everything away after each session. I don't boast a craft room so it has to be kept within limits. I have spent a FORTUNE on this hobby, in fact it is the only thing I have ever done in my life which is not cost effective - my one flutter before retirement clips my financial wings.

I am trying to make it earn it's keep. I am making up a pack of cards to give to my friend as part of her birthday present, but being the inveterate knitter that I am, I am knitting her a scarf as well.

I just have a terminal case of fiddle fingers!

So have I - and it is so nice that I am not the only one who can't sit with empty hands!

Thanks. Unfortunately my OH has put a ban on spending on ebay at the moment, we did quite a bit before xmas. And yes have seen the book on Amazon but again dont really want to spend too much money.
