    Morning

Just got back from my daughter's where we have been for 10 days while my OH has rewired her house.

Lots of mess for me to clean up as she was out at work all day. Unfortunately my Grandson was also at Nursery all day as it wasn't practical to have him home while OH was busy. So we didn't get to see too much of him, which was a shame.
It also rained (and hailstoned) 99% of the time we were there, so very disappointing.

Managed to finish one sock and start another while I was there.

Hi everyone, I have read through quite a few pages on this thread and am now feeling inspired...:) You are all so talented! I would like to have a go at sock knitting. I have ordered some lovely 4 ply sock wool but i am not sure which type of double pointed knitting needles to buy. Which ones do you all use, or which do you recommend please? Do i buy a set of 4 or 5? There seems to be so many different types to choose from..bamboo..metal..plastic....also which brand do you recommend?

    Many thanks.

Personally I like short wooden or bamboo DPN - my favourite are the Brittany birch 5" needles which come in sets of 5 (well actually 6, just incase you break one).

But it really is a so much a matter of personal choice.

If you are going to use DPN I would definitely go for a set of 5 rather than 4 - as it does tend to make it easier.

    Hi all

I have recently got my needles back out after a few years of them being packed away in a box. I hope you dont mind me popping in and joining the chat?

There are too many pages to read through so wondered if any of you have a pattern for goth baby clothes, hats, boots etc? Or any links that may help me. I have had a look around on g**gle and I have a few ideas but I thought you lovely people might have some alternatives for me?

I have found a few skull patterns that I maybe able to work with if not!

Thanks in advance, happy clicking!! :rotfl:

Have to agree with Orkney - Ravelry is a treasure trove of patterns that you really can get lost in.

  • Hi all, need bit of help with reading pattern.

It says "now taking inc sts into gst, inc 1 st at each end of next 7 rows"

Does this mean the increase stiches are in garter or do i continue in pattern (rib) i'm confused! By the way im knitting back section of a cardy with short capped sleeves.

    Thanks Eh xx
