    Morning

Just a quick post to say that I'm back.
Knitted a sock at the airport, on the plane and while I was there, and started a second. Not sure when it will get finished though, as Mum has her surgery today, so may be a bit busy.

Just a quick post to anyone looking for patterns, if you haven't joined https://www.ravelry.com then do, it is such a great resource for patterns, free to join (some patterns are not free but hundreds and hundreds are!).

  • Thank you to Cherrydee and Orkneystar.

I will be starting on the baby blanket as soon as I've finished the latest scarf.

Hi guys, it feels like I've been away for ages - had rellies visiting from Oz. Just wanted to say loving all your makes especially Trevor the Bug. Hopefully I'll be able to keep up now. Finally finished a SOCK!! and started on it's partner so I'll post pics when it's finished. I managed to get the tension right and they both seem to be the same size this time. I downloaded a great app for my phone that keeps track of all your knitting stash and an editable counter that you just tap as you go along - it's brilliant and means I don't keep losing my scrappy bits of paper with tally marks on it. Catch you later

Cherryde, I've just finished a baby blanket which is meant to have a pompom on each corner. However, I'm worried about the baby sucking a pompom and getting fibres in his mouth - even in his throat.

How can you ensure that it is tight enough?

Hi, this is the same type of baby blankets I have been knitting, (Ebay Item number: 300610487719) they are knit with Rico Pompon wool and they are not actually proper pompoms as such with loose ends. Maybe you could just miss the pompoms out.

    Hi

First time on this thread and I haven't searched - it's so huge I'm overwhelmed

    BUT

I have been to Meradowhall with my daughter today and have seen loads of SNOODS with (basically) a cable knit. Are there any free patterns available - main problem I would have without a pattern would be working out the repeats

also I saw (which you might like to know is clearly 'fashionable' right now)

(seriously) a scarf in a cream colour for £36 () which was just a double rib right along! (Double rib is my description - hope it makes sense - ie two knit the 2 purl and reverse on 2nd row - even I could knit that up quickly!)

and I saw lots and lots and lots of cable jumpers at hideous prices! Just kept muttering 'I could KNIT that'!

    Hi and welcome.
Lots of us on here are members on the Ravelry site. It is an excellent source of patterns - hundreds of them free. It is free to join, and we have a MSE group over there. I typed in "snood" in the basic pattern search and this was the result. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/search#craft=knitting&query=Snood&availability=free&sort=best&view=captioned_thumbs
If you go into the advance pattern search, there are lots more options.
    Good hunting!

Yes, I'm not doing the pompoms, but the blanket looks nothing without them.

I can't knit very much for expected grandchild - they live in sunny Florida - but am realyy enjoying coming back to knitting after years.
