Hi again all....I'm getting upset with myself and was wondering if you can help me.

I'm trying to knit these cute bootees

    dsc_0448.jpg

I'm knitting them with 5mm needles and a DK yarn at the moment to see if I can do them; then I'm not wasting time going out and getting the wool that I might not use if I can't make them

When it comes to attaching the straps though I seem to be having trouble and where they attach to the bootee I seem to have MASSIVE holes :(

The pattern says do a long tail cast on.....which I did.....then I end up in a tangle of wool and I ended up knitting the wrong bit in last night :(

If you can help I would be so happy

Hmmm, I tried a quick pair of these too, wasn't happy as they weren't neat enough at strap joining for me either! Sorry!

    Hello
Nunnygirl -- I have never knitted those gorgeous bootees so I am no help either And whilst we are talking of help does anyone know of a pattern for a cardigan like this one but with a "v" NECK.

    001-8.jpg

The yoke is all knitted on one needle and I love the finish but would like a "V" neck version.
Try and do a good deed every day.

This one is knitted all in one piece? Can be cardigan or sweater. Only goes up to age 1 though.

Thank you for that Nanny Jane-- That was really kind of you. Not quite what I am looking for! I think I may have to pop to the wool shop and look for a pattern and--- rescue a few balls of yarn I am sure!

    Da dah! (Drumroll)

Not perfection yet, but these are going out the door in about 10 mins, hence quick rubbish photo. Want to make more, and it has got me interested in crochet again.

    Phew!

Still on with my Ocean Sleeveless Top

Knitted a quick cotton dishcloth last night while watching TV. The Americans rave about knitted dishcloths so I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

RIGHT KNITTERS PreemiesUK IS SENDING A PLEA OUT. just been told that SANDS are running out of Blankets for their memory boxes. So i am asking my knitters to send me their blankets and we will send a big parcel of blankets and help them. I am asking for 100 blankets and if we can get more that would be fantastic. Do you think we can get that amount.

am sure i can squeeze one in with my other projects. usually start knitting bits about now to bring in at christmas to the unit where my son was born 3 months early. it may seem unimportant in view of all whats going on, but being able to dress your tiny baby in a little outfit only for an hour just makes things seem a little more normal
