RIGHT KNITTERS PreemiesUK IS SENDING A PLEA OUT. just been told that SANDS are running out of Blankets for their memory boxes. So i am asking my knitters to send me their blankets and we will send a big parcel of blankets and help them. I am asking for 100 blankets and if we can get more that would be fantastic. Do you think we can get that amount.

Some of these- on Delamores are close. That is thick wool! You might have to do the dreaded tension square and move up or down a needle size.

Thanks so much for this link, it came up with a couple of suggestions that I've already used so feeling a bit more confident about not following to the letter exactly :rotfl:(although no doubt I'll be back for advice when I've finished my tension square!:o)

Sirdar Big Softie was on offer at Kemps a couple of weeks ago. Big, soft and very warm.

Is Kemp an online store that you guys buy your wool from? Is it this one? http://www.kempswoolshop.com/home.aspx is it a safe site to use?

Anyways, thought i let you all know how i am doing with my blanket for my DD. I've finished adding the crochet borders and finished crocheting my flowers (can't believe i crochet flowers this time last week all i knew were the basic of knitting!) and all thats left to do is sew the flowers onto the blanket and add the scallop edging on top of my crochet border. So i am hoping i will be finished by tomorrow night! WOO HOO! Kinda sad it's nearly over though as it's been a learning experience making this and i loved every minute of it. Whenever i am putting the kids to bed or out in town i am always thinking about my knitting project... sad right? I just can't wait to get stuck in! Soo addictive! But... i've already got my next project on the agenda! Another blanket, but this time for my DS! :)
I would love to make a cardigan for my DD but it looks so hard compared to a straight lined blanket LOL! Unless any one has a super easy pattern they can share with me? x

My 4 year old DD saw these yesterday and said 'wow! cool mum!' LOL! She asked me to make her one. Is this simple to do and do you mind sharing the pattern? My DD will love me if i made her one for her toy doggy!

Ami82 - I have used Kemps a few times with no problems.

Your blanket sounds good - look forward to a picture.
Where did you learn to crochet flowers? I am just starting with crochet, and looking for simple patterns.

Nearly finished my second Baktus Scarf using Noro Silk Garden :-)

The pattern is on ravelry and the only free Zhu Zhu one. I did also purchase one for $3, which I have not tried yet. Just go to https://www.ravelry.com (you need to register but it is free), search Zhu Zhu and click 'free' in the options and this will come up.
