    Morning everyone.
Have had internet problems and been offline for two weeks. It has been a nightmare as I'm trying to run two websites and couldn't access orders or emails. I've spent hours waiting in for Engineers, but at least I've got some knitting done.
Have made a Circular Shrug, which is too big, so need to look at that, and I'm now busy with a Gilet in Big Softie for my daughter.

I have been given lots of vintage mohair, so I'm looking for projects to use that.

Hope everyone is OK. Get well soon Orkney.
Loving all the clever people's socks!

    Morning all,
Best wishes Orkney, get well soon.
Ayeshalush good luck with the socks! Another addict on the way.
Bet you've got some catching up to do Cuddles.
I have just blocked Shop Hop Shrug (Rav). Might be nice for some of your mohair. My knees hurt!
Meal out with pre-retirement colleagues tonight.

Well, as promised, here is a piccie of my first sea-foam scarf.

    DSCF0520.JPG

I love the way it hangs, so light and drapes well. I am giving it to my friend tomorrow.

I got the hand-dyed yarn (rayon-cotton slub) from Linda Kemshall on her stand at the NEC last month. Wish I could get in touch with her again to see if I could have some more. I got three hanks...onto my second now, another present...next week this time! Think I will keep the third...though would love to have more to try different patterns.

Her website is undergoing reconstrucion atm, so getting in touch is a bit tricky...also our machine's Outlook is warped (we use other email providers), when I try to contact her, it goes immediately to Outlook, with no sign of the email address to copy...aaaargh! I do feel for you cuddles and your computer/internet problems!!

I am off to the Malvern Spring Show tomorrow..helping on a stall in the afternoon, so have the rest of the day to wander and look at everything...well some of it at least!! I will take the scarf, so I can do some knitting when my feet/legs/back have had enough wandering!

All this talk of socks...I really must get back to DH's! I have a stash of Regia balls somewhere...got them in a sale last year....so will have a look and decide which to use next. Might encourage me to pick up the four pins again! :)

Right off to get some things sorted before heading for bed...hope to get an early night, as a busy day tomorrow.

Have a great weekend everyone..I'll be back in the next few days sometime.

Keiss 21 that scarf is really nice, looks much finer (and posher) yarn than I used. It is a good pattern I think.
Cuddles Hope you have no more internet probs- that must have been a right 'ole pain!
I still feel rank, not even really concentrating enough to knit much (have cast on a baby cardi in white baby yarn and getting a little of the second Mojo sock done- following the pattern the two socks are not meant to be exactly the same but do look good together, well so far).

Fantastic scarf Keiss - love the yarn and may have to try that pattern!

Sorry you're still not well Orkney - take care and keep knitting!

I am waiting for my Gilet to dry after blocking, then have a few ends to sew in and a button to sew on. Am really happy with it and so hope that my daughter likes it.

Have now started working on a Circular Shrug in coral coloured mohair for my sister. Hope it turns out better than mine, which is too big. I'm trying to work out a way of altering it using shirring elastic.

Keiss - what a beautiful scarf! Some time ago I saw one like it but the other way round if you see what I mean, with the drop stitches in vertical "ladders" instead of horizontal. I do wish I'd bookmarked it because I want to make one and I can't find it anywhere now!

OrkneyStar - Glad you are feeling a bit better, at least you are well enough to knit so that's something! I love the Mojo socks - I hadn't seen them before but I've just been looking at all the different versions on Rav and they are fab. I think I'll cast on a pair when I've finished my Circle socks (though it's anyone's guess when that will be, I've frogged the first one 3 times already, just can't seem to get it right :()
Oh dear, here we go again.

    Hi ladies

I am knitting a really basic tea cosy but I just can't figure out what this pattern means... http://myfivesons.blogspot.com/2007/01/tea-cosy.html

Cast on 84 sts, work in basic 1x1 rib for 4 rows okey dokey

Work Rib pattern 40 sts, cast off 4 sts, continue knitting on these 40 sts for 20 rows. Does this mean I am just going back and forth on the same 40 stitches??? Transferring other stitches to a holder?

Break yarn and rejoin to other 40 sts and knit for 20 rows as for first half, knit across the first 40sts so there is a toal of 80 sts on needle keeping in rib pattern.

Any ideas? Maybe I need some sleep...
