Orkneystar - that cable looks fantastic. Is it quick and how is it done? Also love the scarf.

I'm working on a zip-up jacket for no2 grandson (13 months). It's a dark grey dk that his mum wanted. Don't think it will take me too ling.

Well I was inspired a while back when Lambanana mentioned that there is a way of cabling without using a cable needle, so I tried it for myself, as cable needles used to be my friend but seem not to be any more for some reason!
TBH it is easier to do than it is to explain but if you google 'cable knitting without a cable needle' all sorts of videos, links etc will magically appear!
Also I think Lambanana posted a link not that long ago, but I cannot see it at the moment. HTH

ETA I have also updated my previous post with better/more up to date pics if anyone interested!

I upload onto ravelry (it is quite easy) and then just copy onto here, but you can do it other ways (eg flickr).

Working on baby stuff at the moment for DD - baby due 4th Nov but we're now taking bets..........

Gosh, that's a long pregnancy, isn't it? (Or is my addled brain not working properly?)

    I love all the makes.

You have all inspired me to pick up my needles again after many years. I have just made one of the twirly scarves and I love it. Have started on another because I can't get to the shop to buy patterns or wool ...

Also confused about the pregnancy length too...10 months and then some??

If you are after patterns...check out Ravelry. You have to join, but it is free!! You can always order your wool online too...sorry...is that too much temptation to look/spend?? It's great fun though!!

LOL.. no it is working fine.. that due date would mean AF started on Jan 29th.. think the month might be an error.. ;)

Anyway.. tonight I aim to get pics up of the new baby bits.. and I WILL get the right front of the baby cardy finished. Not sure what is next on my project list.. I have loads and loads of red aran I need to use up.. it claimed it was claret and it was bright red when it came.. may run up a cable sweater for DS3... :D

Easy, just knit the stated amount of stitches, then turn the needles round and knit back the way you have just come.
