    Hi Everyone

Quick question - I've started knitting a scarf with 12mm needles and lovely chunky wool, however I hate using the 12mm needles.

The only other pair I have are either 5.5mm or 6mm - what might it turn out like if I were to use them with that wool?

    Thanks,

    Sal

Did you really mean 12mm ? Anyways - I'd use 5.5mm with chunky, but why not knit a sample using 5.5 or 6.00 to see if your prefer it?
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Must be like trying to knit with a pair of oars :rotfl:;)
Try the smaller needles and see what you think.

Blimey that's cheap. Unfortunately the fussy teenager I'm knitting this blanket for will only accept purple or black (although I may push the boundaries and try *gasp* darkish denim blue.)

However, nothing to stop me knitting a big fat pink blanket for myself after Christmas:D

    Cheers jenny

By the way, has anyone ever knitted a bed jacket?

I was watching Faulty Towers the other day and Sybil was wearing a rather fetching little number (although I'm thinking now maybe I'm wrong and it was a nylon job). Anyway, I'd like to knock up something Sybil-ish in wool for myself.

Anyone tried one of these before?

I have some old 1930s/40s/50s needlecraft books with the odd bed jacket in, although the clothing sizes are for single women and married women so not much help on the sizing front.:rotfl:

Saw this, and could NOT remember who or where someone had mentioned a bedjacket. Blimey it's taken me a while to track it down.!

Editted to add... notes on Ravelry reckon it will fit a size 12 in US sizing.
