    Hello Everyone

I joined Ravelry, thanks for the link, it's looking good, just have to try and find my way around the site first - lol.

I did find these today and wondered if anyone had seen any handles anywhere? I'd rather buy them now rather than wait for them to come from Hong Kong?

I thought they'd make nice Xmas pressies.

I have made both the butterfly and plain bags and they're really nice to knit. The first handles were free from Simply Knitting magazine. I bought handles that were too big for the second bag and had to make my own.

Anybody have any idea for the cheapest place to get decent sock wool (something like Regia or Opal)? I'm really wishing I'd stocked up more when the Regia was cheap in Kemps and now I'm running out I can't quite bring myself to pay full price! Any ideas?
Oh dear, here we go again.

I had been wondering the same thing and Mardy told me about Drops Fabel ... looks gorgeous and I can get it cheap locally so no P&P ... yay!

That's quite dear actually. I get sock wool now from
http://www.scandinavianknittingdesign.eu/index1.html - go to Garnstudio and then Drops Fabel. It's gorgeous.

    Drops Fabel
    75% wool superwash, 25% polyamid
    Price - £ 2.00 to 2.40
    50 g = 205 meters ( 225 yards )
3 ply: Needle size 2.5 mm
    Knitting tension 24 sts x 34 rows on needle size 2.5 mm = 10 x 10 cm
    Machine wash at 40 deg.
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

Having now knitted 2 pairs using http://www.cometosilver.com/socks/SockClass_Start.htm

    (thanks NualaBuala for the link)

I want to knit a pair for my hubby, son, dad and brother for xmas pressies.

Hubby and son same size and not a problem as I have access to their socks! but my brother is a size 10 and my dad an 11.

So how many inches do I make the foot for before I get to the 2" from the toe bit?

When I started knitting socks I found and bookmarked this page:

    http://www.i18nguy.com/l10n/shoes.html

if you scroll down it gives you the shoe sizes in inches and centimetres so you can subtract 2" from the length in the chart before starting the toe.
