Your wrap is lovely, Kezbabybabe. Really nice pattern, too.
I've been knitting on and off for years, but as I've got older, my concentration's got really bad, so most likely I would'nt even get past the first row of that pattern without making a mistake0 -
Hi i have decided that i really want to learn to knit, i have got 3 weeks of night shifts coming up soon that are inevitably going to be quiet and think this is going to be a perfect time for me to get cracking on something, and hopefully use the weeks leading upto them learning how to knit!!
So would greatly appreciate any help on the best way to get started?? My mum cannot knit never have and never will she says but i am very keen!!0 -
Hi RMS,
I would suggest a nosy at YouTube to see if there are any knitting videos that you can follow.
Or is there a local craft group that you could pop along to for help? Ravelry.com have groups and there maybe one local to you.0 -

That looks good as it explains how to make it fit an individual.
Thanks for your help.

hi there everyone,
Been MIA lol, but enjoying the posts!
Hope you are all ok and enjoying knitting away.
Re- starting to knit (sorry I forget who asked), it might be a help to see if your local library has any beginner books (or even details of a local craft circle or something)....or maybe the charity shops might have some magazines or something....worth a try.
Anyway here are my (finally) finished socks, done on dpn's using Opal Cotton. I posted a pic before (here) which shows colour a bit better as light was artificial last night but the recent pic shows them finished. I love them, so comfy and fit very well. I used a pattern that came free with Zig Zag bu King Cole but you will find many sock patterns online!
Finally I just managed to parcel up a small package for Bonnie Babies containing the last of the charity knitting I did (some burial wraps and hats) so need to post that too.

Hi,
The best book I found was Stitch n' !!!!!, the Knitters Handbook.
Also found a lot of videos online helpful, but a lot of those are american sites so they knit the other way IYSWIM and that confused me no end!

I want to try and knit some socks too. I have some black 4 ply I could practice with (also if I made a mistake you hopefully wouldn't be able to see it) but like you not sure if I could do them.
I might try one day as they do all look really nice.Did owe £9,951.96
