Its very quiet with Mardatha's break for freedom. I hope the newspapers were alerted that she is going to town and that they are ready for her. Serious shopping afoot there me thinks :beer:Clearing the junk to travel light

Hope Mardatha is having a lovely time!
I don't mind lace, my biggest fear is colourwork, I have yet to try it! I promise myself though that I will try that and also try knitting socks toe up before the end of this year.
My weekend plans involve knitting for a swap I'm doing on a knitting forum, getting as much of DH's sock finished as possible and trying to fit in a repeat of the lace scarf. That's in between all the horrid housework!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member #398 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :T

Hi any room for a newbie? i normally hang around the cross stitch forum but bought some wool on saturday, got my friend to show me what to do on Monday and now I just can't stop:eek: I am only doing a scarf in a simple rib pattern but the yarn is lush, it's growing very quickly and at this rate I will be wearing it by next week.
Looking forward to seeing your projects

I'm hoping a friend of mine has got some wool similar to Sirdar Bigga to knit a comfort wrap.0 -

I've made a few because they are great for learning new stitches or techniques - if I mess it up it can still be used!
Most of the patterns I knit come from Dishcloth Boutique:

I really like the way the preview pics show up - I wish more knitting pattern sites had this feature instead of having to click through dozens of pattern names to find something you like.0 -
Well I went ! I did it ! I SPENT TOO MUCH MONEY and had a great day! - First time on a train for about a million years. Got a day return, 55 mins each way in the train for £8. Scotrail train was clean & empty and comfy.
The Rav marketplace was ok but not fantastic Plumduff. Cost £8 just to get in, which bumps up the cost of the wool. For that £8 you don't even get a programme telling you who's stall is where.
But it's the first time I got close & personal with hand-dyed hand-spun wool. I used to think it was a real rip-off and not worth the money, but now I see the difference, it is really different and outstanding.
But I still can't afford to buy any..:(
I got wool for 2-3prs gloves and 2prs socks, plus some gorgeous wine red mohair for £2 a ball. Husband is making me porridge as we speak (cos it's all he knows how to cook but I'll take it ! ) So starting tomorrow I need to TALK LESS and KNIT MORE ..:rotfl:0 -
Yay she's back! Glad you had a fab day and lots of lovely wool. Bet you are exhausted but happy. And being waited on, Dh must be worried that now you have ventured so far it will happen more and he will have to learn to cook:rotfl::rotfl:Happy knitting hunny :TClearing the junk to travel light
