I"ve knitted on a plane before and no one said anything. Well apart from a stag party who couldn't understand why a 20something year old was knitting. I didn't take my nice bamboo needles though just in case they were confiscated.0

I'm a bit confused,
Knitting a hooded jacket for a 12 month old and I'm a new knitter.
Left Front tells me to knit until work is 9 rows shorter than back at shoulder - no problem, done that.;)
Right Front tells me to knit until work is 10 rows shorter than back
Why would it be different, or is there a mistake in the pattern?
Thanks to anyone who can advise.Jack of all trades ... Master of none

It depends what you want to knit. Don't rush out and buy all sizes of needles as there are some that you may never use. Find some wool and then decide what you want to knit. If you get a pattern, it will tell you what size needles to use.
If you haven't knitted for a while, it may be worth just trying to get some cheap wool (Ebay, car boot or charity shop), and get used to knitting again before tackling a pattern.
Once you are ready for a pattern, there are lots of free ones online. You're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -

Hi all, i new on here I have been lurking and I wanted to say Hi!
I am 29 and i knit and crochet and shrug off the laughter that I get off friends when i tell them my hobby. I v just finished a neck warmer for my daughter and have started one for my son, I also have a crocheted blanket on the hook too as I like to swap and change what I am doing.
Id like to learn to knit socks so that is something on my list to start soon.
Looking forward to sharing projects and learning some new skills from you ladies.
