  • I would read that as continue decreasing on alternate rows until stitch count is 60.

If you think of alternate as "every other", the instructions make more sense - to me anyway.

Then again, when I started knitting, I asked 3 different people what that meant and got 3 different answers!

Would you like to come and finish some of my projects ? I have four that are nearly finished but the thought of sewing them together is putting me off. I hate sewing up :o

The cardigan is lovely by the way

:rotfl: I meant I love being finished with projects, I hate sewing them up! I'm afraid you're on your own there.

Does anybody want a Kermit frog pattern? It's called The Frog Prince ( by Alan Dart) and is in a simply knitting mag. If anybody wants it just PM. Not a beginners pattern.

Just spent a pleasant few minutes or so, thanks to Psso for putting the linky up for ravelry neck warmer thingies. I have just sovled several problems for my fellow goths 'c'word pressies, free patterns for some very victorian neck warmers, I know I have to knit them yet but the main thing is they are ticked off the list.

I'm thinking it would be nice to knit wee draw-string bags to put home made jam in...something like a mini duffle bag ? If there is such a thing then somebody please post it :) Crochet might be nice but I cant do it.
  • I'm sure you would find some patterns on Ravelry for that. I went to local library today and got some lovely knitting books that I would never have bought. Don't know why I hadn't thought about doing that before.

Am knitting a lovely top at the moment with Sublime, but must get back to my socks at some point. Luckily am going to stay with a friend for a couple of days who is a sock knitter extrordinaire, so will have expert tuition on hand if I try to tackle something a little more complicated than my standard stocking stitch *roll eyes smiley*

hello I'm new, only just discovered you all. This evening I saw a pattern on Ravelry called (as far as I remember) "recycled jar covers". It might be what ur looking for. If you aren't a Ravelry member I can look further into it for you :D

Ok found it thanks. And you could shorten it for smaller jars and leave the top open with a draw string. TY!

There`s a pretty lacy bag here which could be adapted /shortened to fit jam jars. Originally meant for keeping carrier bags I think.

that leaf sachet looks mince at first, but I think you could make it nicer and fill it with crushed lavender, mint or lemon balm..:)
