Thanks, that's the style I'm looking for but I should have mentioned that my son is 23 so I don't think that one will fit! :rotfl:

I've picked up the needles again for the first time since ds was a baby (he's 7 now) to knit him some cosy jumpers-it's just about impossible to buy proper "warm" jumpers ready made. I've just got the sleeves to do on this one, then I'm moving on to chunky wool for speed!

amandada I love your Harry Potter jumper. I wish I knew someone young enough to knit it for. I don't think my 18 and 23 year old nephews would appreciate it - pity :D

    marie - thanks

redballon - You're right that makes no sense. I agree with you it would all be on the one edge. I would either k2tog at the beginning of the next 4 rows or k2tog at the beginning and end of every other row for the next 4 rows.

I was wondering if any of you peeps could help me. I would like to knit some things for charity but I have 3 problems - 2 cats and OH that smokes. Can anyone suggest any charity that I can knit for where this wouldn't be a problem? I could probably get OH to give me have a smoke free zone but the cats get everywhere :o

Maybe you could knit blankets for an animal shelter, they probably wouldn't mind a bit of hair?
