I've just been talking to the owner of Kemps today http://www.kempswoolshop.com/?gclid=CMm_-ImYkJMCFQZOMAodJGu_Yg I am lucky that I live within walking distance:p and I have the following quote which should interest the yarn addicts :D

"We have had a 45 foot container wagon this week with loads of new clearance which are not on the site yet . Rowan full ranges of Damask £1.20 ,Alpaca Soft £1.39, Bamboo tape £1.20 and more colors in the cotton D.K. Loads more colors in the jet and caressa D.K. .Also odd colors in many different sirdar yarns.
I hope to start to photographing and putting the details on the site in the next couple of days but there is a full black sack of new lines."

Kemps has been the traditional place to buy wool for three generations of my family, (in fact no, four:eek:) my two daughters buy their yarn from here too. This is one of those small businesses that really go out of their way to help customers, whether in person or via the net. I have even known them to phone people who have placed orders over the net to double check items before sending them out and the staff in the shop are always friendly and helpful.

Anyway I thought I'd post this as I know quite a few people on here have had some not so good experiences with other yarn companies and I just hope it helps.

Unity, would like to second your opinion of kemps wool shop, I have ordered wool a few times from them and would give them great praise for their customer service....daren't look at the site with all that new stuff around as I have almost run out of space for the wool I have already stashed and unfortunately am in a non-knitting phase at present, must get back to it

Me too :o, which was why I thought I'd pass it on, although I may have to find a reason for buying some of the Rowan DK cotton in the lovely poppy red :D.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Oh dear, i've just been co-erced into handing over some money to Kemps! Mind you, I'm glad I saw this as I was about to buy the Damask at £2.50 a ball from Cucumber Patch.

    Hello

I'm hoping someone can help me please.

My mum gave me a pattern the other day for Liquorice Allsorts cushions which had come from a copy of My Weekly magazine years ago. We'd both like to have a go at making them but only a couple of the patterns are intact.

Does anyone know where we'd be able to get the others?

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks Don79 but unfortunately they're not the ones and aren't particularly like the ones we've already got and we've already knitted them so could really do with matching ones!

    Tracey, try contacting My Weekly.
They may still have the patterns on their files or be able to point you in the right direction.

You'll probably get your letter published, especially if you send in a photo of the cushions you've already done.
