i couldnt see it when i clicked on the link

I'd hoped it would be visible without needing to log in to Ravelry, but it looks like it isn't, and there's no link to any site outside Ravelry hosting the pattern. But there's no good reason not to join Ravelry, so why not join up? It's a fantastic site :-)

Ok, so i`ve decided which pattern i`m doing so i thought i`d better do a tension gauge, 17st to 28rows but it turned out too small, well the length was fine but the width was about 1inch less, so i went for bigger needle and the length is ok but the width slightly too wide , , less than an inch, what would you do ? lol

For the Lacy Summer Tank? It's a fairly basic shape, so I'd just adjust the number of stitches to whatever I needed for the right width, and then measure to whatever I needed for the right length. The pattern is a four-stitch repeat, isn't it? So as long as your number of stitches is a multiple of four, there shouldn't be a problem.

Just wanted to pop in and say HI I am a knitter, and a young knitter just turned 24 last weekend- got into it in september of last year when i had had my son - knitted handwarmers to start with until i got good.

haven't read through the whole thread - sorry it is a long one lol!

Just knitted a lovely baby vest from the ravelry site its a pattern from the 1940's and its so CUTE :)

Knitted it for my friend who is due her little boy in 2 weeks time and still have to do the arms and (try to) sew it all together.

i hate the making up part! its a killer!

I love knitting and most of my friends think i am nuts but knitting is cool now anyway (sure i saw some celebs doing it a while ago lol)

I too am a member of ravelry and can i say i LOVE that baby yoda top and am going to start knitting that for my newborn (due in september) shortly :)

    Love talking knitting

    Nice to meet you all.

Not sure how big it will get - just spotted some of the wool I'm using on offer at 59p a ball (I think it was at Readicut) so it could end up big enough as a bedspread for a full single bed - but I have bunk beds for the grandkids so to fit one if them is my plan for now - about 48 squares).

I like doing the washcloth squares as they are small individual projects - make a good break from big things and - I have started to keep a ball of wool, needles and a pattern in the car so if I get stuck anywhere I have a piece of knitting to occupy me. (been spending hours waiting in hospital with Mum).

I find some of the patterns easier than others, just now I'm doing easy lacy ones, I haven't repeated any yet but I've identified 3 or 4 that I'm happy to do again.

sorry for waffling on, I think your plan is a great idea - I might just pinch it for my "emergency reserve" prezzies.

    luv
