I've recently been on the hunt for bright DK and found it a nightmare. In the end found Patons Fairytale which I love. It is 100% wool but there is also an acrylic version. Got it from www.mcadirect.com.
They also stock Patons FAB which is 100% acrylic, has some bright colours by the looks of things and is considerably cheaper.
They do free delivery on orders over £10 and their customer service was fantastic. Pretty sure my order arrived the next day (and if not it was definitely the day after that).0 -

I want bright colourful yellow, orange, turquoise..etc. I've had a look on the sites that has been mentioned here but I get lost in all the strange names and differences of wool. I've tried Shaws (but they mainly got pastel colours) and ebay prices are silly after putting the p&p on top

Hope this helps & gives you a better idea of what it's like, it's machine washable & I've found it really good
If you save this pic to your picture folder & enlarge it you will be able to see it the actual thickness of the yarn better
for some strange reason I couldn't get it to show bigger on the forum

Fiddlesticks (www.fiddlesticksdevon.co.uk ), stock some very bright - florescent, even - DK. I don't know if they are listed on the website, but I have definately seen them in the shop - the shocking pink is particularly eye-catching! If you give Barbara a call, I am sure she will help you out!:A FLY FIRST, KNIT LATER :A0 -
