I've recently been on the hunt for bright DK and found it a nightmare. In the end found Patons Fairytale which I love. It is 100% wool but there is also an acrylic version. Got it from www.mcadirect.com.

They also stock Patons FAB which is 100% acrylic, has some bright colours by the looks of things and is considerably cheaper.

They do free delivery on orders over £10 and their customer service was fantastic. Pretty sure my order arrived the next day (and if not it was definitely the day after that).

mcadirect only stock one colour in the Patons Fab, but googling the brand I found a shop who had it in stock with 30 different colours to pick from.
I quite like the Fairytale and have now ordered the Lime, lemon, aqua and orange.
    Many thanks x

I stopped knitting and mainly crochet Amigurumis now but I got problems finding the colours I'm after. Does anyone know of a internet shop that sells fairly cheap DK yarn. I want bright colourful yellow, orange, turquoise..etc. I've had a look on the sites that has been mentioned here but I get lost in all the strange names and differences of wool. I've tried Shaws (but they mainly got pastel colours) and ebay prices are silly after putting the p&p on top

Hope this helps & gives you a better idea of what it's like, it's machine washable & I've found it really good
If you save this pic to your picture folder & enlarge it you will be able to see it the actual thickness of the yarn better
for some strange reason I couldn't get it to show bigger on the forum

Fiddlesticks (www.fiddlesticksdevon.co.uk ), stock some very bright - florescent, even - DK. I don't know if they are listed on the website, but I have definately seen them in the shop - the shocking pink is particularly eye-catching! If you give Barbara a call, I am sure she will help you out!
