So basically that one little stitch can make all the difference. Shame as what I wanted to knit was a summer cardi and this wool is a really nice summery colour.

The tension on the ball-band is just a guide; what matters more is the tension *you* get when you knit with it. Different people knit at different tensions - I know that my own knitting is close enough to "standard" that I never do a tension-square, but many knitters need to go up or down a size in their needles to achieve the tension a pattern requires.

So knit a tension-square and see what you get - you might even find that your own knitting is at 22 stitches.

    Thanks Blueberrypie

I will give it a go once I've finished what I'm doing at the moment (nearly there) and see what I come up with. It would be good if it worked out.

Just to say that I have also bought a lot of wool from some websites and was happy with them, but my favourite one is clickettyclack and the woman gives wonderful first class service, so I will certainly be going back to them for my wool etc. I had placed my first order a while ago after recommendation from another poster here, and I received an email from a lovely woman to offer me a better deal on the wool I had ordered and a promt email back a few hours later, and I have placed two biggish orders with them in total and love them. Excellent customer service. We do have three wool shops in our city but it is expensive and prefer to order here. Happy knitting:) Margaret

Hi Margaret- I have tried to google for clickettyclack but havent found the website- do you have the website address please?
    Thanks

  • Just thought I'd post and warn others about readicut, I feel I should because I was the one raving on about how cheap their wool was, what a mistake!

I got totally the wrong wool through and was told via email and phone to send it back by registered post and they would refund it if I enclosed the postal receipt.

They have refunded the cost of the wool but are now querying the postal costs, I have scanned the receipt (luckily I got a spare from the post office) and have had to ring them up (on a 0844 number) and I am now waiting for them to ring me back, or email...

Needless to say I won't be ordering from them again...

I sent mine back with the courier who delivered it. Readicut are saying they haven't received it, and don't use couriers  . Also waiting for someone to call me back
