Commissions going well - Have 5 adult and 1 baby cardigan on the list to do. Keeping me busy and earning enough to pay for all my own wool (not that I have much time to knit it).
I've done summary sheets of patterns I have which detail the wool required and have printed shade cards off for the wool I suggest is used. Saves me carrying around patterns.0 -
There's some knitting bits at lidl (well, it says so on the website, I shall pop in and report back later)
And can someone help me please? *this is the erin shawl from let's knit this month*
Using 8mm needles cast on 40sts with yarn A, and 40 sts with yarn B (does this mean, 40 with one colour and then another 40 of the contrast colour on the same needle?)
row 1 p, row 2 k1, ssk, k to last st, m1, k1
Rep the above two rows, twisting the strands of yarn together at the back when changing colour (how do I know when to change colour?)0 -

Have the pattern in front of me and it does look like that. It says to twist the yarns together at theback so it looks as if it will be knit in two colour sections.0 -
There is a really nice Alan Dart chick knitting pattern for free on the freebies forum

going to be brave and attempt it even though it'll all go horribly wrong as I'm not sure what to do. :rotfl:0 -
Miss Kool and Catwoman Kent, you obviously get the Lets Knit magazine. I thought about getting this after a friend gave me her copy but we both nearly had to be picked up off the floor when we saw how much it cost a month (she didn't realise the cost til she got to the checkout). I see they have a website and their subscription takes about £1.00 off a copy but they are also doing 3 copies for £3.00. It says after the price something about the money being taken quarterly (now just looked at their website to double check the details and it's now gone up to £11.25  ).
I guess what I now need to ask is, is it worth subscribing to, money wise I mean, or am I better off just buying patterns as and when I want them? I do want to try and knit more and am just about to start my next project (hubby picked wool up from Post Office today).Did owe £9,951.96
Now helping hubby pay off loan. Finally paid off :j

Can't comment about the Lets Knit magazine, but if you go back through this thread, you will find lots of sites for free patterns. I haven't bought one since I found themYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
