What's the deal?
Big ferry operator P&O has a great special offer on its Dover-Calais route. You can take a car and up to 9 people on a day trip to France for £20 return, and as part of the deal you get a case of Gallo wine (6 bottles - UK RRP £26), and a 2for1 meal on the ferry itself (via vouchers).
How to grab it
The special offer's listed on P&O UK's website , and is valid for travel between now and 19 March. Availability is limited, and Saturday round trips carry a £10 supplemental fee. Use the offer's availability checker before booking to find out when you can travel.
Book through the special offer link above (by clicking the 'Buy tickets now' button) and it'll automatically fill in the promotional code box. If it doesn't, enter 'ssdaytrippromo' in the box when booking to qualify.
Exclusions
The offer isn't available for journeys on the 9th, 10th, 16th & 17th Feb.
The freebies:
- Case of 'Gallo Winemakers Seal' wine. When you check in you'll get a voucher for the wine, which you can pick up from the onboard shop on the outward leg of your journey only. The wine is subject to availability, but P&O promises to supply an alternative should it run out.
- BOGOF food. At check in you'll also get a voucher for a BOGOF onboard meal (one per booking). This offer is limited to the 'farmhouse breakfast', served before 11am, and fish & chips (plus veg) on all other sailings. Again, it's only redeemable on the outward leg.
P&O's usual terms and conditions of travel apply. Read them here

Thanx, have just booked up.....but just a warning, there is a £2 charge if you book using your credit card, but no charge if you use your debit card!0

I got this too on Thursday, booked Friday and travelled Saturday!
The guys in the shop were a bit wary of the voucher as they had not seen it before and it was high value discount (just under £18) Although they scanned through the Gallo and the voucher with no problems!
The vouchers are handed to you when you check in0 -
Has anyone ever tried booking 2 days out but coming back a week later. ie book a cheap day say saturday and another the following friday, so that you can get a weeks crossing cheap

All the ferry companies and Eurotunnel have very similar wording in their T&Cs regarding using 2 cheap day tickets instead of buying the full return. If you fail to make the booked return crossing, they will charge you the difference between what you paid and the cheapest one way ticket available on the day of travel. Works out very costly.0

Do you have to have 9 people go, can't there just be 2?0
