My contract runs out on 23rd March and have just called 3 and they wont budge on the prices they state on the net. I went through to the rentention department and they were very unhelpful.

I asked them if they could offer me a deal on the BB bold 9780 and they wouldnt budge from the £30.00 deal stated in store. Even though o2 are currently offering the same deal (but with 500mb internet instead of 1GB, but unlimited o2 to o2 calls) for £25.35 and the guy i spoke to just said well 'go with o2 then!'

Just out of interest i asked what other 'deals' they could offer me and again they just offered me the same deals as instore, apart from the HTC desire which they offered me at £28.00 on the one plan - which i still dont think is a particually good deal!

Am i doing something wrong here? As others seem to have got fantastic deals? Ive been a 3 customer for 6 years and also get my broadband through them, so think they deserve to give me abit of a loyalty bonus.

I requested my PAC on 16the Feb and PAC will expire on 17th of march. Still no call from three. I call them and ask to match some deals but they not interested in any of one, Customer representative was very rude. I will definitely leave three next week. Now not interested any three deals in future. Bye bye three forever.
I have got what i wanted from three both times i have upgraded.
The formula i have used is to request to cancel my contract when into my final month - they ask me if i want my PAC code, i say no thanks i want a new number anyway - always being polite but firm.

Someone phones me back after a week but the offer is not good enough and i tell them no thanks again.

Around 10 days before my contract expires i phone up and ask for my PAC code, saying i've found another provider, they ask what deal i'm getting but i don't tell them - please just give me my PAC.
Either they then give me what i have asked for or i get a phone call back within a couple of days.

Have an idea what you are looking for when you first phone them up - they keep everything on record - just don't ask for something ridiculous. Never expect them to offer you what you want on the first or even second call.

So let me get this right.

People who are being offered new offers of £10 or less a month are existing users who may have had more than 2 loyalty discounts applied for sim only accounts?

From my recent dealings, it seems that three will only let you stay on your existing tarriff (the likes of old Mix n Match and Texter plans) if you accept SIM only renewal, or accept a mediocre handset.

If you want to get anything decent you need to hop over to one of their current tarriffs (thus losing the handy free 3-to-3 minutes)

Also, despite going through the usual process of calling them up in your last month, and cancelling your contract and waiting for them to call you back with a 'special' offer...i think this isnt the case unless you regularly go over your minutes and earn them a bit of cash.

My gf rarely went over her £20 a month bill... yet I go over anything from 5-10 per month (we dont have any land line in the house and I sometimes have to make 0800 / 0845 calls)

Its funny, I bought my gf a san francisco to use for a new phone for £90, and got her to take a £10 sim only deal.... as they didnt offer her the HTC Desire she wanted for £20per month.... then as soon as they found out i had a contract with them too they are trying to get me to accept a deal for a Desire for £21 per month.

Im going to be holding off for a while, until I buy a new handset outright, and drop myself to a cheaper tarriff too.

    Three's loss.

For 0800 try www.0800buster.co.uk/ you dial their landline number and that then comes out of your inclusive mins and you type the 0800 number you want.

    And for 0845 0870 try

Have had missed calls both today and yesterday from 3 - so am hoping that they are now considering offering me something better, though they are properly still calling to only offer me the same deals as on the net! :rotfl:

Havent actually spoken to them yet as have been unable to take the calls as have been at work - hmmm.

My Contract Runs out on the 4th of April, currently on Mix & Match 1100

I got called yesterday, by a nice Indian guy, who spoke good English which was a pleasant surprise.

    He offered Three's 'One Plan' with;

    £20/Month (24M) HTC Wildfire
    £20/Month (24M) Sony Ericsson X8 Black
    £20/Month (24M) Nokia X3-02
    £15/Month (12M) Sim Only

I use ~ 900-1000 mins a month and probably have racked up on average about 3 quid of non-inclusive calls data etc. a month)

I asked him to call back today, as I needed to think about it before making a decision, he duly called back as promised today, but when I said I was after an HTC desire, he was totally unable to budge from the website prices, and not even able to offer the same discount relative to the website prices as on the above deals for the HTC Desire, so after about 30mins of chatting I decided to leave it.

What are the best HTC desire deals anyone has had from them recently?

And what do people reckon I should do now, leave it for a couple of weeks and then call up for a PAC code?

They were calling to just tell me that they are unable to drop the price on any contract on the blackberry, so still no further forward. Time to cancel and go to o2 i think.

just got my PAC contract expires on 9/4. I'm on VTT500 - proper old school! only pay £10p/m including 2Gb data. realise if i want a decent new phone need to be paying more a month, and i need a new phone my samsung jet battery dies in ~12hr. But still offering to pay more each month got offered nothing.

Best they could come up with was £20pm for a refurb htc desire with 300 mix and match and 500mb web.

I've seen a good deal with t-mobile through dialaphone. £15.32 for 300 min 300 txt and 1gb web. £80 for desire, but £50 quidco takes care of most of that.

Just have to wait and see if they get back to me...

    Hi all

I'm a relative amateur when it comes to mobile contract negotiations!

Long story short, for specific reasons I have 2 contract phones, one with t-mobile one with three.

I rang Three to explain I now intend to drop one, and the guy offered me :-
    - HTC Desire
    - 2000 mins
    - 5000 txts
    - 5000 3<->3 calls
    - unlimited internet

    for £28/month

Is this any good? I have no knowledge of the phone. I take it is better than my Nokia E71?

    :)

See my previous posts on this. I got a better deal for £25 eventually but had to pay £8 something up front. Barter to get it down.
