I cancelled my missus' contract almost a month ago as Three wouldnt offer me the Desire on her current rate of £20 per month.
They still havent called me back (she switches to payg on 28th feb).
Any advice on what to do?
I thought their 'special' retention team would have contacted us by now?0 -
I can't believe how rude Three are!! Been with them on and off for years, but they've got SO much worse in the last 2 years.
Their deals are becoming pretty average, and to be honest, what's another £hundred or two, so that you can speak to a polite human being, and actually not have calls dropping every 5 miles when you're in a car/on a train?
Best they could offer was 18 months, 500 mins etc, Desire, £22...
They weren't having any of the "£5 sim only" chat.
And they refused the PAC request several times!!0 -

Hi, My wife had the same letter - I have rang 3 and they confirmed total £13 discount has been applied and the line rental is £5 pcm. They told me to ignore the letter. MS0 -

Speak to them and if you're in the last month of your contract and they really believe you will leave, then they may offer you something better. The Nokia E5 is £149.99 in their PAYG store (£12 Quidco/Topcashback too), so why not ask for a £5 SIM only deal and then buy the phone yourself? If they won't offer you the £5 deal say you'll leave then, and they might relent or phone you back later with the £5 deal.
Yeah, I went trhough the leaving 3 option. Still no budging and no deal on sim only (well £15 PCM). They phoned again yesterday and as soon as I asked for PAC code the "signal" went again. How very convenient:mad: I couldn't face phoning them back despite the numerous txts saying "we are sorry we seem to have been disconnected - please call back" and having plucked up the ooomph to phone today. I think I'm kinda rubbish at this negotiating nonsense:rotfl:0 -
I dont know how some of you are getting deals as low as £5 per month?!
Is that price after multiple loyalty discounts over many years?
My missus was on the following
£20 Texter
1000 Texts
200 Mins Talk Time
includes addons
Text 3000
3 to 3 calls
Internet Max (2GB)
for £20 per month.
To be honest she doesn't use that amount of text, and internet. But the 3 to 3 calls were definitely handy as we both have 3 contracts.
When called to get a deal they would only offer the above for £15 per month, for a new 'flexible' 12 month contract where she could upgrade whenever she wanted.
Pushing them on further discounts got me no where.
In the end I went for a £10 SIM 300 deal (new 12 month contract). Will be using this with a Orange San francisco I have Sim Unlocked and installed a custom ROM on. Got it for £99 from argos the other week, and other than a crappy camera on it, is a fantastic phone for the price.
Only downside is that we wont have free 3 to 3 calls anymore (well i do on my contract...so not so bad.)
I dont know if the rules are changing at Three...but we cancelled her contract a month ago, and got not one call from their 'special' retentions team.0 -

I am on exactly the same tariff (taken out 18month ago on a "3-glitch"). I have been paying £10ish. Called last week for PAC as I thought the discount would end, and the lovely Indian girl said that the discount actually continues, and she offered a further £5 off so I would pay around £5.40ish from next month (I think .40ish is due to the VAT increase). In the confirmation letter, £-10 is listed as Loyalty/Retention and £-5 is tariff discount.
I only have had the contract for its minimum 18 months, and I do not pay a lot more than the £10ish tariff charge every month.
I think the whole thing is a luck of draw who picks up your call ... (and when I requested PAC, I sincerely meant it).Mark Hughes' blue and white army0 -
Do they show your loyalty discount online now? It stopped a while ago but I wondered if they had started it againThanx

Just been on to them over my contract. Absolutely useless. I said I had seen an HTC Desire HD on Vodafone with 600mins, 3000txt and internet for £25/month and was wondering what they could offer me.
First off you go through the usual crap you get with these people. "We have an exclusive deal just for loyal customers etc (read: this is what we have on our website for new customers)" After getting nowhere with this guy, I asked for my Port Authorisation Code (PAC) and was promptly directed to their retentions department, also in india.
The cheapest they would offer the Desire HD to me was at £35/month. Even with an upfront cost of £60 they couldnt give me a £25/month contract. Their super duper deal that they had to confirm with management was the standard Desire on the one plan for £28/month.
I told them I wasn't happy and would get back to them. Consequently I have my account still open yet also my PAC
What worries me is his refusal to price match a competitor, one that arguably has a better signal than them and better customer service, the blatant lies they try to feed to you, and worst of all this:

I can get the bloody phone on 3 for £25/month anyway? What are they playing at.
Going to let them stew for a bit, and let me cool off before having another crack at it. Otherwise I'm moving network.0 -

See my post on the 20th Feb where I outlined the deal I eventually got for £25 per month.
Good Luck0
