  • Well had my 1st call to the call centre today about an upgrade. What a joy that was... 10 minutes talking to a guy who I struggled to understand with so much background noise it sounded like he was the middle of the Mumbai rush hour. As I guessed they werent interested in giving me anything a new customer couldnt get... i.e wanted Nokia E71 on £20 texter tarrif, wouldnt give me any loyalty discount or any picture messages bundled in like i wanted, thought he would be clever by offering me a 2gb memory card which is included anyway. Oh well will see if they change their tune in 2 months when can give in my 30 days notice.
  • it was 15months ago when they had fab deals, i dont mind paying a little extra for the phone either

There were lots of us who took that Mix and Match Deal 15 months ago :-) i got it with a Nokia n73

Well my 3 contract ends in a months time. My first try for a retention deal has yielded:

    1) Free Blackberry Bold
    2) 300 Mix / Match (What I am on now and this in enough for my usage)
    3) Blackberry Internet Service

    £15 / month

I don't think that this is too bad. Whats are the thoughts of the forum? Is it worth trying to do better?

I have just read a post about from someone who didn't get the deal that they were promised on the phone. A bit worrying and I could do without entering into a fight with 3 and all the agro that would bring. Do people tend to find that they honour the deals they promise?

    Thanks

Hi, that not a bad deal. Mine ends with them in a few days, and well I rang to see the upgrades they would offer me, and all they basically said was pick out something from the website and we will give you free unlimited three-to-three calls.

How did you go about getting that deal, was it through upgrades?

    Hello

been a 3 customer for 5 years, currently on a 750min 150 text deal which is £20 a month (12 month contract) which a year ago i got a free nokia N95 GB with it

So far ive received a call from three offering me the same as above for around£14 a month. I said no and havent had a call back since, should i call them up today and request a PAC or something or wait until tomorrow? I dont particularly want to lose my number and havent had chance to organise a new phone yet!

    advice appreciated.

Hmmm seems like I'm getting taken for a ride at the moment! I pay £30 a month for 500mins any time, any network and 250 texts - I'm due for an upgrade as my contract is about to run out so think I should be trying to get on what you guys are on.

They've offered me the new Blackberry for free so far on any other handset but it's more the monthly expenditure as I do really like 3 but don't want to lose minutes.

Is it better to go into the store or call them and negotiate?

Tux - I think you should be fine as the contract / phone number will continue until you are ready to tranfer. Then phone 3 and ask for the PAC and they will have to give to you if you've requested it. At least that's how it worked for me in the past.
