    Hi Pink

Only just logged on but want to say so glad HJ come through things OK. Honest, if I can do anything I would come through at the weekend. Please tell her I am thinking of her.

Well, in total disarray with decorator being in. He has done a bit of the kitchen, a bit of the bathroom and the mess - well!

Sorry, haven't caught up with you all but please take hugs and kisses. I can't even access my Yahoo e-mail! They have put even more damp down things on internet at work so really unhappy!

Got a funeral tomorrow but not close - my aunt by marriage. My sister says no, she isn't coming down to go. DH and I will represent the family!

JackieO - hope you are OK?

    Hi all,

I spoke to Haribo this afternoon and again just now.

This afternoon she sounded in good form but was very woozy. All went well with the op but she managed to give the Dr's a bit of a post op scare when she had some complications connected with her other illness. I'm sure she'll tell you all about it when she's back online.

This evening she sounded much better....she was starving and had walked to the hospital shop as she was craving chocolate or haribos. The shop was closed :( and because she's in a hospital 200 miles from home, there is nobody to bring her anything. I hate her being so alone. The sugar fix that didn't happen has made her extra determined to be discharged tomorrow, so when she said 'goodbye' she was hanging upside down off the end of the bed to ensure they'll get a good blood pressure reading and let her out! :rotfl:

I'm just packing at the moment, but I have to nip to the shops to pick up some bits and pieces in the morning. Does anyone know if you are allowed to take bouquets of flowers on planes these days? Or can anyone think of something really nice to take her? My mind's a complete blank so I'd really appreciate some help with ideas.

Anyway.... I passed on all your good wishes and hugs and she was really touched. :A Grannybroon, it is so kind of you to offer to help, thank you, but I'll be there until Monday night and hopefully she'll be back on her feet by then.

    Hi Pink

Glad that wee thrawn devil not too bad. Just take her our hugs and best wishes.

    Love GB xxxxxxxx

PS Just had an emotional with my daughter. I phone her every day as I used to get 5+ phones calls when she had DGS1. I have been told I now phone too much. Can you ever win? My Mum hardly ever phoned me so maybe I am over componsating.

Oh Grannybroon I know that must hurt. I speak to my daughter almost every day and have since she left home to go to UNI 6 years ago. She phones me just as much and sometimes we speak several times a day - I'd hate it if she told me I phoned too much.

DS before he went to UNi said "I hope you're not going to phone me every day" so I didn't - but whenever we speak at the end of the conversation he always says I love you, even if he's in a pub full of his mates. Not bad for a 21 year old.

Kids! Daughters in particular can be very touchy....DD1 who lives 150 miles away has never been one to confide unless something really important....started the day she went to school when I asked how she got on I was told 'fine', if I asked what she had learnt that day it was always 'nothing' ...found that I got more info if I didn't ask, so just buried the thought that I was an uncaring mother; DD2 (lives in London) was rather clingy emotionally until she was about 16 and since then has felt that if I ask her a question I have some ulterior motive, so talk about DGD1 most of the time unless she raises something else; DD3 was the 'scared' child, afraid of everything as a toddler, grew up confident, outgoing and is very successful in her engineering world..can talk about anything to her; my 26 year old 'baby' DD4 is improving all the time...except early in the morning when she is a demon on wheels!

So they are all different and I have come to accept that they all love me in their own way, if I need anything they are all there ( my three sons as well!) so have been trying to accept that they are not me, that they have changed just as I have over the years, and that they are wonderful

    Hugs GB

    meanmarie,

What a fantastic post! It's a great help to me as I'm having a bit of a turbulent time with my own daughter at the moment. Your post puts things into perspective. :T

Wannasavemoney - Be careful about parking illegally after April. The rules change then so that the enforcement officers don't have to put the ticket on the car like they do now - they can post it to you, all they need is the car number!

 Thanks for the heads up. Its impossible being a driver these days you can't put a toe wrong even when 99.9% of the time you are good and never do anything wrong, I'm just the type that when i do something wrong i ALWAYS get caught - its not fair! Even goody goodies need to be bad sometimes:rotfl: Think i might just as well trade the damn thing in and save myself some money
