  • Evening all

HUGS to all of you not well and who have had doctors appointments today.

House is now scrubbed as much as I care to do it (always thought some dirt was good for you):D . Managed to do some studying. Took DS to the park after school, it was freezing.

Tea was jacket potatoe, tuna and salad. DS had rice veg and chorizio, strange child doesn't like potatoes:confused: .

Don't know why I'm so flaming tired all the time. I'm sure it's the menopause but my GP says it isn't.

Off to run DS bath, oh joy can collapse on sofa soon:T .

Have a good night all :A xxxx

Oh lor am I a ninny or what ??? Just booked two nights with Travel Lodge at their special £19 a night rate for me and OH when its out wedding anniversary. Nowhere special particularly, just be nice to be somewhere else for a change. I opted for Kings Lynn...........we've never been and in March it's just as likely to be cold as not and there's plenty to see there, museums etc. (plus bit of retail therapy). Paid for it all and thought I was dead clever then realise that the Travel Lodge is about 12 miles away from the town centre !!! There was me thinking OH wont have to do any driving once we get there and now he will ! Haven't told him yet........but better had while he's still in a relaxed mood knowing we've got ten days off to look forward to (two/three days away, the rest at home just doing out own thing)
Could kick myself and went back to the site to see if there was anything closer but without paying more money there isn't, plus I wouldn't get refund from Travel Lodge...............so I'm feeling a bit of an idiot .............:rotfl:
Oh well, never mind...............could have been worse.........could have got the wrong county altogether...................lol

Hey all, just a quickie from me - I do read every day still but as nothing much happens I don't post!!!

I think I've come down with man-flu    :rotfl: seriously, I've been coughing and sneezing all over the place and feel rubbish - felt so bad this afternoon that I skipped the gym on the way home from work! That is VERY unusual for me since I have a HUGE crush on my gym instructor :rotfl:He is sooooo beautiful and has a gorgeous South African accent :smileyhea:smileyhea

Just trying to work out a cheap, healthy, meal-plan for £15/week. I thought it'd be simple but as I have no freezer I can't batch cook :( It's actually rather depressing - I don't want to eat pasta every night!!!!!

Will see what I can do about coming to the Sheffield meet - I normally work and another girl has Thursdays off, but I'll see if I can bribe her to swap!! If not, I only work about a 5 minute drive away so I'll try and pop over for a wee while.

Edited to add: Haribo - I hope you're back on your feet soon; Ruby - good luck with the test tomorrow and well done to your DD. :grouphug: to all others who need one and who are feeling poorly or under the weather

Second time of posting.....last one went into the ether................

My friend should have had her knee replacement yesterday. Sat from 7.30am till 5pm in a paper nightgown, no food or drink, was then seen by the consultant, who told her that he had not been able to do her op as they had run out of time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she MIGHT get it done within 28 days.................can you believe that. She has been waiting over 12 months in great pain, and should have been done in Novemeber....they put it back then.......she is fuming and I for one, do not blame her....................they must have known they were going to run out of time, why could they not have told her earlier, given her something to eat and sent her home??????????????

I printed off the photographs of our Christmas lunch to show at the coffee morning, sold quite a few, so that will go towards the paper. I have never done it before, was very pleased with the results.

Spent the afternoon sewing, I have made 3 tablemats, tried 3 times to join the binding on the bias, ended up still doing them straight...........I can do it on a quilt, why the h*** can't I do it on a teeny table mat!!!!!

I have slipstitched the tape on two of them, might finish them off tomorrow, the first bits for the craft stall........

We had the turkey, boodles and garlic bread, it was yummy...........bacon omlettes tomorrow.....................
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

    Hi everybody :hello:

Glad to hear Haribo's op has gone OK :j :j and good luck/hugs to everybody else who's been in hospital or ill.

My neck muscles are still giving me grief but have loosened up a lot since yesterday. I can at least now move my head in both directions. However it is sort of a recurring problem, so somebody on another forum I go on has recommended me an osteopath who I might investigate - the going rate seems to be about £40, but as it happens, I also work just round the corner from the British School of Osteopathy, where it costs £20 ;)

Like many people on the thread today I've been thinking about switching my electricity supplier. However I'd wanted to give it at least a year's usage in my current flat before doing so (which I've done) and due to all the recent price hikes I've also wanted to wait until all of them had settled down before comparing. Also I'm an employee and shareholder of my existing supplier :o which makes me slightly reluctant to switch, though we don't get any employee discounts off fuel! Still the good news is that I got my annual review letter from them today and my direct debit - which was originally too little, and was then put up to too much - is being brought back down to pretty much exactly what I calculated it should be :j

The other thing I keep meaning to switch is my mobile tariff, which isn't suitable for my needs any more - I'm going to go and have a nosey on the phones board for a good deal.

Roz_V - having a freezer really makes meal planning so much easier. Why don't you have one? If you can't fit one in, fair enough, but if you just can't afford one, have you tried Freecycle?
dlb - well done on 13 days :T
patentgirl - ((hugs)) it's horrible to feel unappreciated at work.

Sorry to all I've not mentioned personally - it's always tricky when I don't get on here till the evening as there are so many posts to read through :o

    Love Rzl xx

Rzl - it's a space issue! My "kitchen" is down one side of my living area and there's nowhere else in the flat it could go :( I have an ice box in my fridge but it's not very reliable and I wouldn't want to risk keeping food in there!!

I have about £2 to spare in the budget and need 1 more evening meal to complete the week... soooo frustrating I am stuck on this last one!!

What else is on the plan Roz? Perhaps if we know that, we can fill the gap...
