morning chums , all's well this morning I hope Haribo's op goes well, good luck.
I have an appointment with the oncologist this morning, but it's only a 15 minute one so I shouldn't be too long at the Maidstone Hospital. Then I'm off the hempstead vally shopping for some retail therapy.I have to buy my sis-in-law a birthday present plus I feel like treating myself to something nice .
I had a great time at craft club yesterday we did some 'shrink wrapping' which reminded me of when my children were small and shunk crisp pakets in the oven !
Lovely dinner last night at DD's (Tess's)and lots of cuddles from the men in my life, Mikey, 3, Henry, 6, and gentle Jack 7. Jack has been diagnosed with mild epilepsy, and is on Epilon which makes him a bit hyper, as he's normally such a quiet little boy it was strange to see him 'fizzing'
My lovely Tess is coming with me today to the hospital, she is such a good lass ,even with five children and two jobs she always finds time for her Mum.
Her lad Ben is delivering leaflets at the week-end for pocket money, and last week earned his first ever money. He is going to save for a Wii for them all to use .So at half term we are opening him his first bank account I will probably slip him the odd bob or two as he is so keen to save his cash in a 'proper ' bank
Katie, her eldest is almost 15 and is deep into worrying about her exams and how she will do next year already .She wants to go into childrens nursing. As the eldest of five she has a bit of a headstart as she knows quite a bit already aboout rearing and looking after children.
The Virgin chap came yesterday and fitted a posh new top-box so hopefully I will get my catch up t.v. at long last
Well it's time I got a wriggle on and had some breakfast.<<hugs to those in need >>
and a big smiley face to the rest of you.
My bulbs are galloping away in the tubs in the garden I do hope we don't get any frosts
    Tarah for now
  • Good morning everyone

    Quick one from me today.
    Haribo Good luck for today.
Amie I'm making jelly today too! Using a sugar-free Strawberry jelly but will make half water, half apple juice for more flavour.
JackieO good luck with the oncologist this morning. Don't spend too much on your retail therapy. ;)
furrypig my DD was still wetting the bed at 6. She had her kidneys x-rayed, etc. Turned out she was just late in developing the instinct that tells you to wake up when you need to wee. All of a sudden she was dry and we had no problems after that.

Had a bad night last night. XDH upset me as he was showing off his new leather jacket (£200+), new glasses (£200+) and asking me how he goes about increasing his pension contributions (he started off years ago paying £200 per month and I know that it indexes each year so bound to be nearer £300 pm now). This is the man that refuses to increase the maintenance he pays by £10 per month, even though he signed an agreement to this effect. Still, I know he isn't happy so it isn't bothering me quite so much today. Like you Hester though, I do worry what I will live on in retirement as I had to stop my pension contributions when we split up as I couldn't afford them.

Right, enough moaning from me. Need to get a move on. Have a wonderful Wednesday. xx

  • Good morning everyone.

My post disappeared from yesterdays thread ? Think it was in pig fry gate ? :)

((Hugs)) To everyone who needs them

Its been another sleepless night here after falling asleep on the sofa :( I am finding it really hard to get motivated and really have alot of batch cooking and organising to do in readyness to go into hospital ( Depending on what i have to have done will mean how long i have to be laid up :( ) After my last op i was home that day and not too bad the next day. But my first one it was 16 weeks before i could even get upstairs :( So i have been worrying as i know this one is a big op like my first.

Hope everyone has a great day... Off to catch up with end of yesterdays and todays thread.

Tru Be careful of those drawers. I had one like that and they break easily and it's such a pain to replace etc. I opted for the cage type drawers this time which slide out.
    Aha! :D

I've already thought of that. We had a list of requirements lol, one of them was - we wanted to be able to take the drawers out if we wanted to, so the drawers must sit on a can-put-food-on-it shelf, rather than just on runners or a must-always-use-drawers-or-it'll-break type shelf.

Tru It's not actually the drawers I mean. It's the doors of the drawer. The plastic must become a bit brittle  and when you shut them can break off in the corner's where they click in which make them flop down when you open the main door. This description probably is as clear as mud. :D

Haribo has just PM'ed me with her new *after* pictures. If anyone wants a looky you can PM me. :D She wanted me to post them but this is the daily after all.

Chocorange What's a pig fry gate? You're not one of those obsessed with pigs are you? We already have one of those on here. :D
Kyle Sorry to hear about DH's job. I hope you get a better sleep tonight.
JackieO Good luck with the oncologist today.
Annie Can you make him pay more? What the heck did you see in him girl? :p
MrsMix Hope DS knee is ok. Boys.

Just had tea (which was delicious btw :D) and off to have my shower and settle down with my knitting. I'm starting to sound middle aged. But I"m not. :D Byeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Made DD some Scotch pancakes for breakfat as a treat

Washing machine is on its third run and I need to load the dishwasher - clean the sink -tidy the kitchen and rest of house. Clean bathroom and hoover round.

Someone is coming to view the house tonight but I am still in my pjs and cannot seem to get started.

Think it is probably because I know she really wants the house next door and hopes by seeing our house again she can get them to lower their price.

For self respect will tidy a bit but am not going crazy and as the house we really wanted has gone then we are not desperate to sell.

Would love to be moved by Spring if we could find the right place.

Hugs to everyone having a tough time epecially chocolate orange and jackieO

Morning all.........(((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))) if you need one.

Coffee morning this morning, so not on for long.

Its a bright sunny morning, but very cold, I opened the bedroom window and almost froze, there is a covering of frost on the grass outside.

I feel quite upbeat this morning after making the decision yesterday to cook one of my 'good' meals once a week.............today I have been OS using up some turkey breast I got reduced in Mr T's......cooked yesterday and allowed to rest in the fridge overnight, to be gently re-heated tonight and served with noodles and garlic bread...............pudding, bread and butter I think, thats about all I have until we do the shopping on Friday.

Off to get ready for the coffee morning, its 'our turn'...............see you later.

    Morning all,

On school duty again this morning, frost everywhere but roads ok...tummy a bit unsettled, might go back to bed for an hour but that never seems to do much for me, maybe some knitting would be better.

Very cold but sunny here, so feeling cheerful, never ceases to amaze me how much my mood is affected by the weather.

No doubt Haribo is snoring her head off under anaesthetic at present, but thinking of you anyway.

Could do with a new freezer/fridgefreezer, have an upright one out in a shed..no harm has come to it, mind you walls of shed are two feet thick, it was the cowshed when this was a working farm.

Just OH and me for dinner to-day, have just taken an uncooked turkey leg out of freezer, not sure what to do with it, soup on with stock from yesterday's lamb, bread proving in kitchen, seem to have eventually got the hang of kneading it without too much mess, so BM is in cupboard.

Hugs to all in need or want, have a good day

    Marie
