  • last word on the subject , i cant believe the advise i am giving to not put all your trust in paypall getting you a refund is being ignored it will prove an expensive lesson for some as it already has for some already .
  • agree 100% with wolfiejp. It is completely within the seller's power to follow correct procedure and claim a refund through RM should the buyer claim the item has not arrived. I think RM does occasionally check with the buyer when a seller puts in a claim for a missing item so if the buyer is lying they are committing fraud against RM.
It seems hard to argue any other than that the buyer should receive the goods they have purchased or else be refunded in full.

Oh dear, Soolin and shellsuit amongst others are 100% correct. In simple terms.

Proof of postage is not proof of delivery

seems to me you need to rant at the post office ,ID MOVE IF I WAS YOU OR STOP BUYING OF EBAY WOULD BE A GOOD START OR TELL YOUR SELLLERS A LOT OF YOUR STUFF GETS KNICKED SO YOU WOULD BE HAPPY TO PAY FOR RECORDED DELIVERY SEEMS LIKE A GOOD IDEA TO ME
now look at it this way the buyer decides to buy something of ebay he fails to read the dispatch details in full he reads that the parcel he is so concerned about is going to be sent out standard mail , now me being thick here must be becouse i do not hand over any money if i see its going to be sent out standard mail , my advise is becareful paypall will not i repeat not give you your money back if the seller has insufficiant funds in that account YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR MONEY BACK .SEEMS TO ME SELLERS NEED TO BE SENSIBLE BUT SO DO BUYERS .

why would the buyer pay for a service that benifits the seller?if thats all a seller offers then fine but not paying a premium

The same thing happened to me last year, I purchased some speakers which never arrived, I informed the seller on many occasions, and emails when back and forth, with the seller getting more abusive all the time.
By the time I tried to raise this with PayPal, I was out of time, so if you wish to claim from them, do it quickly.
  • 90 days then you are out of time , the seller refuses a refund and put no funds in his account changes to another paypall account again seller loses out, paypall are not the going to get your money back on all occasions ,and people convinceing people on here they will are misleading the ones posting on here ,
As a buyer for my other point if you know a lot of items are getting lost on the way to you surley it is sensible for you to ask the seller to send recorded and of course you pay for it as i said if EBAY made a rule all sellers send recorded the issue would not arise would it? the reason theY do not is people will not pay the postage rates for sending a cheap item and in turn ebay loses on sales becouse jo blogs arnt buying .i realy do not understand why some one would buy an item in the full knowledge its not going to be sent recorded if they have any concrns it could get lost as in the past its a bit like takeing home insurance out and going away and leaving all the doors open (ah well im insured ill get paid out ), i have excellent feedback and have in the main good ebay trades from postal to collection and yes it may be the seller should send recorded on all occasions and not trust any one the seller the po etc then none of the above would arise , but the whole thing is a bit sue culture its all 100% there fault and not any of mine thats the brits nanny state all over do it for me i shoulder no blamewhat so ever .

your not paying a premium you are being a decent person and telling the seller you have items knicked in the past then you give the seller the option of withdrawing from the sale or charging for recorded delivery , being a decent person seems to be missing here .
I would also say and yes seller as well as buyer should both shoulder the blame this is why we pay ever increasing insurance premiums for people who take no blame just sit back and say ah well im insured and claim claim claim

Why should I pay for it?
The seller makes a profit on postage as it is, Yes I agree to the charges blah blah but it is VERY RARE for the postage to cost anything like the amount charged.
So by that token these sellers are thieves and if they charge me £5 postage for something that turns up with a 1st class stamp in an enevelope then sod them. They deserve to be ripped off.

  • The seller reads payment instructions postage is clearly stated seller der do not bid if you disagree with the postage simple init ??,
postage packing/time/postage charge / a reasonable charge for postage is permitted if you think postage is a rip off complain to ebay or do not bid free loaders realy do get up my nose.
