yes if i sent an item and aquired proof of postage which is offered by royal mail i would not issue a refund as stated once the item has left my building it is no longer my property the rm have a duty to ensure it is delivered hte main reason something is not delivered is theft followed by lost in limbo , this is why i send recorded i cant be bothered to argue , the people clearly know from the sellers postage and listing that no insurance is offered and i would have thought from the price of the postage charge it is not being sent recorded or special delivery .

but you can claim from RM,so why should you buyer lose out?
so if you order from amazon amd they despatch then thats the end of the matter as far as you are concerned, regardless of whether you get your item?

I'm not an ebay user, but out of curiousity looked up this proof of postage vs proof of delivery thing.

Under proof of posting, it states:
What is a Certificate of Posting?
    A. A Certificate of Posting is your proof that you have posted the item declared on the certificate, into the Royal Mail network. The Certificate of Posting needs to be date stamped and signed by a Post Office® Limited counter clerk as having been accepted into the network. In the rare instance of your item being lost in Royal Mail's network you will have to present a stamped and signed certificate of posting with your claim for loss.

The bit I've highlighted in red says that the seller (and thus the person that put it in the post) has to use the certificate of posting to claim for the loss.

This is contradictory to what "The Lone Ranger" has said, who, as a powerseller, thinks it's the buyers responsibility to claim the loss from the postal service. (Even though HE has the postal receipt).

    So which is it?!?
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

I buy a lot on Ebay and when an item goes missing NOT ONCE has paypal ruled in the sellers favour if it was not signed for.
  • lets be honest amazon as i do send out recorded delivery , ebay the item was a very low value item the item has not been recieved the seller im aware has given po proof of postage if i was the buyer i would accept that it has been lost not the sellers fault etc etc perhaps as i have said many time on ebay forums even people selling very low priced items should send recorded delivery the problem with this is many and i mean many buyers would leave feedback( heavy on the postage ) they always do so my answer to this was for ebay to make it a rule all items are sent recorded or you do not get allowed to list then this case wouldnt arrive would it??, lets face it we do not buy a car or have work done by people who cut corners so why do people buy from some one who is going to send there paid for item by standard parcel ???ie is he /she not cutting corners

how many times in your case???my point made the po say it is rare for an item to go missing and yet some people it seems to ocur too more than once or twice again this subject of paypall being unfair to sellers was high lighted by the mail and watchdog

I am right that paypal will find in the buyers favour EVERY TIME if the seller does not send it signed for.
We both know that, no matter how you dance around the subject.
You are trying to say it is the buyers responsiblity if an item goes missing. WHICH IS UNTRUE.
  • lets get somthing sorted paypall do not say the buyer is wrong and they do not say the seller is wrong , paypall rule in favour of the buyer becouse of one thing only, and that is the seller cant prove the buyer recieved the item, paypall never (ever ever state that the seller never recieved the item) as they only have the word of the seller they clearly state the buyer has stated he/she has not recieved the item , the reason being that paypall cant prove the buyer is stateing the truth and i for one and many others on ebay forum are scpticle of some of these rather dubious claims won purly on default.

fraid not.amazon use various levels of delivery.from courier,rm special delivery down to items scanned into the delivery offices and ones not scanned at all.
the majority of items from amazon via RM require no signature or tracking
  • amazon is large enough to cope with a certain level of theft,
ive just looked at my ebay sites selling site 6992 items sold 1 item damaged in transit 2 items lost ,refunded one ,refused the 2nd as he according to feedback had in 6 months lost three items in the post i aint going to be thieved off .
my buying account on ebay 892 items of which many were unsigned for under £10 items lost over 4 years nil am i lucky i dont think so ,

you seem to have moved on from the rights of a buyer to a refund to you listing deciding factors on a refund
so if you had issues with say amazon over a couple of packages ,would you be happy if they only refunded one?
