Flying visit from me today, off to work soon, v.quiet at work but it's the calm before the storm, I have 2 huge jobs looming, but neither is ready yet. What's the betting they're both ready at the same time & I have people shouting at me to do stuff faster, oh well, thats life. Mind you I did get some nice compliments yesterday, it seems I'm a lot calmer & more efficient than my predecessor & even after 3 years her memory haunts some of the teachers, so I'm still appreciated, lol.

    Good morning everyone,

Moiliere You should try him on some Anzacs :D you'll have him eating out of your hand in no time.
Jocketuk How tragic for the girl's family and how awful her young life was taken so young.
JackieO Hope you get your TV sorted. All our new shows are coming on next month. In the meantime it's rubbish.
Haribo Good luck later today. I bet Pink's first job will be burning your old bra's. I hope she doesn't smoke them. You know what she's like when she's nervous. :D

Got the house cleaned and tidied. XDIL & DGS came for the afternoon and I helped XDIL with her budget. It's what you call a work in progress. I have to look for Thriflady's pantry staple list as I think that's excellent for her to keep. I can't find it atm.

Will pop back later. Zuchhinni slice, potatoes & salad for tea with rockmelon & custard for dessert. Byeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Morning :hello:

jockettuk - what a shock for your daughter, and a tragedy for the girl's family. Still, from the point of view of the girl who died, it sounds like a decent way to go, if you know what I mean - in the middle of doing something she loved. That's what I'd tell your DD, actually.

Sola - up at 5am for the gym :rotfl: :rotfl: Yep, I keep meaning to do that, and I've never managed it once. I'm not a morning person. However I'm thinking of trying for the compromise of a morning gym session just once a week. Most of the morning classes at my gym start at 7:00 or 7:15  and it's near work, so takes half an hour to get there from home! But on a Wednesday, there's an aqua aerobics class 7:30-8:15 which sounds (a) not too ludicrously early, and (b) like the sort of exercise I'd be able to cope with at that time of day. I can't go this week as I'm on a training course in the opposite direction tomorrow, but am hoping I can talk myself into it as of next week.

Plans for today: go to work (really busy today) and then this evening I need to go to a community meeting that's about trying to get residents' ideas for doing up the street I live on.

Lunch: chicken, rice and peas (from the batch of lemon & garlic chicken I did on Sunday). Dinner: dunno yet. Best get something out of the freezer actually - thanks for reminding me ;)

    Love Rzl xx

    Morning everyone!

Slight headache this morning as obviously had one glass of wine too many last night at my book club!!

Did have a list of things to do today but don't really feel like it now! still have to do packed lunches, school run and work but not sure if I can face a Tesco shop, returning some things to M & S and returning my broken SC to Argos! Just want to go back to bed as didn't get in it until 1 am!

Will be meatballs and rice for tea here, so that's nice and easy, DH forgot to put BM on last night so no bread until this afternoon now! Never mind, must go and drink my tea as I'm sure I'll feel better then!

    Have great days all xxx

hugs to those who are stll poorly or coping with loss

dramas this morning as the new hamster bit dd11 and then jumped out of its cage. This is the sort of thing I was afraid of. blood everywhere and dd crying while I don the marigolds to catch the little blighter. Have plastered the walking wounded - if you look very closely and press real hard you can still see a teeny tiny pinprick but it didn't half bleed. She is sitting down now all pale and shocked - as is the hamster. W*rk in a bit and then who knows .... well probably not a lot actually
    have a good day

  • Good morning everyone

Didn't get time to post yesterday. It was DS's first day on his work experience. I don't think he wants to take the bus into town as he knows he will have to have an argument with the driver for the half-fare that he is entitled to - he is only 15 but is over 6' tall and easily looks 17/18. I told him to take his passport as proof of his age but I think yesterday was intimidating enough for him without having to go through that. So, I ended up driving him there and he walked back. We'll see whether he takes the bus today or not.

Tesco are coming to pick up the incomplete and deliver the (hopefully) complete bed today. They should come some time before 1pm. So, as I will be stuck at home, I intend to make the best of it and get some batch cooking done and some more cleaning. The house is beginning to look much better and I now have more idea of what I can car boot sale.

Jockett what a tragedy. So sad to hear of someone so young dying. I imagine your DD will find lots of comfort in being at school with her friends.
Haribo good luck with the op and take the opportunity to relax and recover quietly.
JackieO if you have some spare energy, could you will some my way please? I could do with just a little more. Thanks. :D

((((hugs)))) to those who need/want one. Have a tremendous Tuesday. xx

    Good morning everyone.
Jockett- (((hugs))) to your DD, I know it was awful for me a dew years ago when a friend's DD died aged 15-and it was sudden. So I dread to think how your DD must be feeling/coping
I've booked in to go to drs this morning-asthma check and I need another preventer, mine ran out a couple of days ago and now my chest is feeling really tight. Might mention my back ache while I'm there, If i stand up and walk for more than 10 minutes my lower back is agony, has been for a couple of months now, not sure whether it's down to bad posture when I'm sat down, or what tbh. I'm all snotty again this am too. I think I'll probably just ask to be put in a bag and shook up!!!:rotfl:
OH had a private chat with eldest DD about her weight, bless her, she does do loads of exercise and she does eat healthy food, but she still seems to be putting weight on instead of losing it, and when I say anything she is very sensitive to any kind of criticism!!! guess that's teenage girls for you. (((hugs))) to anyone who needs or wants one.
So because my morning is so broken (despite telling OH I will go into work after I've been to drs) not sure if it will be worth it. I probably won't get out of drs til about 11.30 and by the time I get to work I'll only have time to do a couple of hours and for the amount of petrol it will take etc etc, it doesn't really seem worth it!!! so I might just go in a bit earlier in the morning. Anyway, enough of my ramblings I'll be back later.

Hoping I can get her to pop down mine today she seemed very down yesterday, I would have went to hers but Ihave to stay in today as i have someone collecting an item off me from freecycle, and if they don't turn up this time i will offer it to someone else no more questions asked!! Yep!

    It was my fault :o

I merged a post about pig's fry into the daily - only to discover that the first post of the pigs fry thread was earlier than the first post of the daily - so it finished up at the top of the list (before the normal first post) and the software changed the name to the "new" pig's fry thread.

My fault, too early in the day and not enough caffeine injections yet :)

It should all be back to normal now. Except that it will continue to say in the listing that it's a "moved" thread. I can't fix that I'm afraid. It hasn't really moved - it's still exactly where it was before.

Me...? Gonna get more coffee :)

    Sorry.
