    I've been Money Tipped!
    :hello: Morning!

I can't believe it is nearly Feb already! I'm going to try and reduce our hk bill even more next month and pinch every penny I can so i feel a store cupboard challenge coming on, will just keep the abel and cole order going so we have enough fresh fruit and veg.

Puppy training last night and Penny was the naughtiest puppy in class last night and just wouldn't settle down till the end of the hour! She knows what to do and will sit, stay etc really well at home but she also knew that the trainer had better treats than me (slices of cooked sausages!) and refused to leave his side!:rotfl:

On Friday she will be getting her first coat cut so we could have a puppy half her original size but tidier I hope and less like "What a mess" the afghan puppy from Frank Muirs books.

Today I must delve into the freezers and list what is left for us to live on, yesterday we went to Ikea and had to pop into Costco to use a voucher - 6 x 8oz gammon steaks (1 will feed the 2 of us so 12 portions) for £6 and also picked up a bag of sweet potatoes as they last so long and are wonderful in hm soups.

JackieO - lovely to hear from you, enjoy the card class.

Haribo - good luck! (((hugs))) I see Aussie has started on Pink already! :D

    (((hugs))) to Hilstep and bemuzzed

Jockett - that is so sad (((hugs))) to your dd

kathy - I am knitting dolls blankets for the littlies at after school as I have so many odd balls of wool to use up. My friend is crocheting blankets - wish I could crochet!

(((hugs))) to PP, Scuzz and anyone else who could do with one.

Brrr it is cold out there today and I have yet to walk puppy! so I am going to put the coffee machine on now. Soup for lunch and a wm loaf of bread in the bm.

    Catz x

    Morning all!

didn't get chance to read yesterdays thread due to long hours at work but I'm back now for the next 2 days!:j

Jockett - that is very sad about your DDs school friend - hope your DD is ok x

(((hugs))) to anyone feeling poorly - tattycath hope the doc can shed some light on your bad back.

Got a long list of jobs again today:rolleyes: but first am going into town for coffee and cake at the WI with Mum.:D
Had a stressful evening yesterday as there was an answer message from the school to sday DS2 didn't go in yesterday! we were both on an early shift and my Mum comes to make sure he's up then leaves him to take himself but he didn't:mad: he said he was ill but, he didn't think he would get caught:rolleyes: so after strong words last night and grounding this week hopefully he will mend his ways!

Today my DS1 is 18! makes me feel old!:D I've just rung him as he is away all week and managed to wake him up as he's not in work till 12(didn't know this) he is taking my coffee and walnut cake into work to share with his colleagues. This is his first birthday away from home!

Hope you all have a good day

    Take care x

Thanks to all who have sent hugs and thoughts to my dd, just got back from taking her to school , already dropped her off at the bus stop but got a phone call from her to say she and a few friends have missed the bus they all busy crying and hugging they missed the bus, didnt mind picking them up and taking them to school i will be on standby to see if she gets the bus home..

Just makes you think about all the shouting and screaming we do to each other, we going to sit down tonight and have a natter about things but in the meantime ive booked her in for a massage and facial this is something she has wanted to do for months and i think today she might need it

    thanks again

Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
    Are thinking of you today.
  • Hi all! Haven't been able to post for a few days but today is a 'day off' ha ha. Hugs to jocket's DD, Hilstep, beemuzed and everyone else feeling sad or low, or sick.

JackieO it's lovely to have you back sounding like yourself again!

Got up earlyish and put a beef casserole into the SC, OH came in and said 'hmm onions for dinner is it?' as I was chopping veggies like a madwoman. He nearly went to work wearing an attractive slow cooker hat but I thought better of it (I will be hungry by tonight). Did all the other chores, fed everyone etc and am now sneaking a peek online before having my shower and making a start on the marmalade making which is happening today, along with a quick swish and swipe round the house, which is all that's probably going to get done this week :o

Have a good day everyone. Hugs to those in need.

had a quick read through, hugs for those that need one
hope everyones day has something good in it.

jockettuk, i really feel for you and your daughter, we had similar tragedies here last year a lad biking to school got hit by a refuse lorry on his way to school, he was a popular lad and even the ones who werent his close friends were badly affected by it. another lad sadly met his end swimming in the canal the week after the head gave the end of term talk about being careful over the summer holidays. a talk is a good idea they will probally mull a lot over at school between themselves but just knowing you are there to listen and answer questions will help her come to terms im sure

Ive run out of SR flour becuase of the amount of twinks hobnobs my lot are getting thought since i noticed the recipe on friday. I made them thinking they be ideal for lunchboxes BUT they can eat them faster than i can make them (ive hidden the last batch so they should last) I use wholemeal flour for all my baking i really need to find a supplier of bags bigger than 3lb as i seem to get through tons but cant find it cheap anywhere I really could do with buying WM bread flour in sacks;)
youngest DS school sent a letter out saying they are clamping down on what children eat so can parents "Stop sending in junk food" and yes it was underlined in the letter:mad: The school sell fruit for 15p but the children never know from day to day what it is and toast for 25p A SLICE!!!!! i usually send a cereal bar for break or a box of dried fruit, i will be livid if just because a few children fancy a bag of crisps for break or a choccie biscuit the school ban 'brought in' break and make us all purchase from them. I dont know about everyone else i try to feed my family healthily and if they fancy a little something now and then it doesnt hurt. BUT if nanny state tries to tell me what i can or cant put in a lunch box or feed as a snack im more inclinded to think up yours they have a breakfast and cooked meal at home if they fancy a kitkat or crisps at school they can have them.
Sorry thats my rant for the day.

got staggered tea again tonight, as eldest DS has first night of his play and before that both boys have a club, managed to journey share with another parent so at least we havent got runs out everynight to take and collect (Its on over 3 nights)

Morning everyone - haven't been on here so much and I have missed you all icon7.gif

Jockettuk - so sorry. One thing about the facial and massage - a lovely treat but sometimes releases 'stuff' so she just may be tearful and wobbly afterwards. this is just my own experience. I'm off work at the moment and had a facial with a nice face massage last week and was VERY tearful and wobbly next day. I think it releases toxins so all in all it is a good thing - maybe some emotions are able to be released in my case. But, to repeat!! it's a good thing.
    Take care
