A LOT OF CAR INSURANCE POLICYS USED TO COVER FOR "ANY CAR OR MOTORCYCLE NOT BELONGING TO THE POLICY HOLDER" BUT NOW IT SEEMS TO BE JUST CAR ONLY CAN YOU STILL GET THEM. ANYBODY KNOW? ???O0

I haven't seen it for years, either.0 -
I went on confused.com and got a great quote for my Fiat Bravo 1.2 (me and partner driving), 8 years of no claims, no crashes, etc etc ..... Diamond were the best at £311 (£359 from existing elephant policy).
A I wanted to pay by direct debit, I had to call Diamond (no option to do that online) and they added a whopping £110 to my policy quote for paying over 10 months !!
What a complete con ... girl on phone said the add on is high as they give such a good discount for those wanting to pay in one go.
I say it's a con and I'll be sticking with elephant who dropped their price by £20 when I told them about Diamonds quote !!!Ken Livingstone is my mother0 -

I am insured with Norwich union so i tried confused .com they came out with a lower quote so i phoned NU and told them to beat it they said one @£2 lower which = £409 if i took it today or £430 any other time (last week).
Just phoned N/U again today and asked again for the best price & came up with £409 again but if i took out there breakdown cover the price would be wait for £375.54 INC that is £300.99 for the insurance on the car and breakdown which has to be taken to get this discount £74 total was £375.

hi, i am twenty years old and plan to pass my test soon.
My problem is i have served banned on the totting up procedure and have 8 points on top, due to licence and insurance offences. I have been thouroughly disheartened by the hypothetical quotes i have had from every company ive asked.
Is there anyway i can get insured on anything but a milk float or will i be on the bus for the next few years?
thank you0 -
NEED HELP AND FAST!!!!! My insurance runs out within the next week. I have found a nice cheap company and as I was going through my quote with them over the phone all prepared to buy it, I nearly burst a blood vessel!
When I was asked if I had had an accident, I replied yes but it wasn't my fault. (Accident Dec 05, total cost of repairs to my car approx £1k). So the price of the policy was bumped up £25, because I am a risk because I was involved in an 'incident.'
Fuming about this cos there's absolutely no way this was my fault, I have police reports and things. However, said company are still even with the extra £25 cheaper than everyone else. So do I just have to put up with it or is there an arguement I can present to reduce the premium back down to what in my mind I think it should be??
Any ideas would be appreciated.0 -
Me again, I've just read sad gills fan post. My issue is with Diamond too! Charging for an accident not my fault!0

"Fault" from an insurance companies perspective is based on if your insurance company gets back its money or not and not liability.
Most insurers will not load a premium if the incident you were involved in was not your fault (by an insurers definition of fault) but at the end of the day an insurance company is entitled to use what ever rating they wish to as long as they arent being an "ist" (racist/ sexist etc - of cause prejudice means it is unfounded, gender and age etc can be shown to statistically be relevant in insurance and so isnt a prejudice)All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
