hWe're lucky as there is a field at the back of our house so he lobs it over the fence! Not sure how the famer would feel if he knew but there's nothing growing in it this year, and last year it was cows!
I am sorry but I don't think that is a responsible thing to do.
Do you have any idea that cows and other farm animals can be come infected from dog mess. That then means the animal is useless for human consumption and has to be put to sleep. With the farmer losing hundreds of pounds because of it.
Also how would you like if someone came along and started to put dog mess over your office floor and over you office chair. As that is what in effect you are doing. Putting the dog mess in someone else's work area. And please don't say well it is only ditch. Maybe but I would not want to have a clear out a ditch that was full of dog mess. Let alone that the fact that you could be contaminating local water courses. Which the farmer would get the blame for and not you.
If I as the farmer caught you doing it I would chuck it back in your garden.
Why is that everyone seems to think that farmers fields are there to be wander over and leave gates open and let there dogs run and mess all over the place without picking it up. A farmers field is not extension of your garden. It is someone else's work place.

Just over a year ago, my cat suddenly became ill. Turned out she had liver disease that meant I had to spend hundreds on vet's bills just to keep her alive while they found out what was wrong. Then she was on medication for the next six months. I hadn't allowed for any of that and just had to find the money. I wasn't particularly well off, but I wasn't in debt and didn't have any creditors to fend off while I dealt with it - I shudder to think what would have happened if I had.advice not judgement needed please
thanks
Well done for facing what must be a very difficult decision.0 -
I think totally of your original question but if you are struggling cleaning up after the dogs and busy with the 5 children you should not own any dogs, in fact the new laws, more info on RSPCA laws would probably say they should be taken off you.
It is tough but the children did not ask to be born and the dogs did not ask to be owned, if you are not coping give the dogs up it will help financially and be better for everyones welfare.
How on earth are the dogs managing not to walk the mess back into the house?
Please think what is important, 5 healthy well fed children or the thought of owning dogs, as attached as you are you are failing them and it takes a brave person to admit it and an admirable person to do something about it!0 -

Good point, well made! And i admit I fully expect the farmer to chuck it back one day!
Really should invest in one of those dog mess in things that biodegrade down into the soil....
consider myself fully chastised, although i was only empathising with the OP....
Indicentally, what are you supposed to do with dog poop anyway? Can't put it in the real bin?I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
Mollybear - I know its very hard for you to be thinking about rehoming the puppy and Im sure you'll do what you think is right - I have a friend who has a dog and a few years ago got a puppy to keep him company whilst they were at work but they decided after a week or so that it wasnt working out with the puppy (mess everywhere as puppies do!) and she says now that the best thing they did was take the puppy back to the rescue centre and they have never regretted it. Maybe when finances are back on track and children are older and able to help out you might think of getting another puppy. (((((hugs)))))

I think everyone needs to calm down a bit.
Maybe getting the dog was the not best idea in the world and it has been done and now a way out needs to be found.
Yes granted for some people they could never get rid of there pets and would rather chop their left arm off.
But at least Mollybear is trying to find out a way to be responsible dog owner. She has bared her soul here and really does not need people saying she might as well give her children away. If she can give the puppy away.
Mollybear personally I would re-home the puppy that will all you to concentrate your energy and money on yourself, and the rest of the family and the dog you already have.
I do understand about depression there are days where you can't even get out bed it is so bad. And you feel there are no way forward.
Why not see the PDSA can offer reduced price worming etc. Maybe when it is nice day and you are having a good day why not start a clear up of the garden. it does not mean you have to do all of it.
I wish you all the best that ever you do.

We have one of those dog loos that you put it in, very cheap and work pretty well but I only have one small poop machine (dog!). Previous to that it was parcelled up in poop scoop bags and put in the waste bin or the dog loo bins if out and about.0

I did not know you can't put it the normal household waste. I am not sure.
It is just as farmers daughter I see what people do in my fathers fields. And it drives him mad.
