The OP has depression, money problems, family problems, relationship problems among other things which they are happy to admit to. They arn't coping, getting rid of the dogs would still leave all the other problems which she can't cope with, a little respite foster care for the children would giver her time to sort her life out, clean up and then be able to cope.

    OMG!!!!

Where the hell do you get off suggestting foster care for my kids?

You know what, you are exactly why i dont usually bother to ask anyone for help, ignorant judgemental and insulting, do you think your offering good advice or are you deliberatly being a cow?

Thank god not everyone's like you!

My kids dont need respite care thanks, they get upset enough when im at work, never mind being taken away or 'given away' by me. Do you even think before you type???

Imagine what kind of damage I'd do to them 'sending' them away? Yeah my life is stressful and I'm holding on by my fingernails, but arent most people doing the same on here?!?!?

At least I have a home, job, money coming in and a loving husband who loves me and we both think the world of our kids.

We are coping, just barely yes, but still coping. There is no need to keep referring to my kids needing to be sent into a foster home, I asked about a dog for gods sake, I really am very very angry with these posts.

I truly wish I could post what I really want to say.

Broken hearted have you read this at all??

    "Dear MoneySavers....

Debt Free Wannabee is one of my favourite boards on this site. It's also one which runs a delicate balance. Many people who have serious debts have hidden them for a time, been scared to confront them, suffered depression or have even had suicidal thoughts because of them.

While elsewhere on the site robust discussion is welcomed, in Debt Free Wannabee may I just caution MoneySavers to err on the side of kindness. Of course many are in debt due to over-spending, financial illiteracy, or mismanagement of money (and some through no fault, only due to circumstance). Yet the fact they are here means they're looking for help, guidance and to take charge of their finances - and that in itself is admirable

Please use your knowledge and kindness to help rather than to berate. This board often has the power to move me to tears with the sheer power of the community that's grown and I hope it will continue.

If you feel it’s important to point something out that the poster may find negative but needs to understand, then it's not a problem, but do think carefully about your phrasing - people can be very sensitive and nuances may mislead when it’s in an online Forum."

I cannot believe the tone that this thread has taken, from a purely innocent request for advice, to the above!

  • I cannot beleive that this thread has turned that way either.

Please please; if you can Molly, ignore it.

my lovely back garden is now a dog toilet, my kids havent played in the garden for 2 years! :o:o

BTW I didnt actually mean it hasnt been cleaned for 2 years. I clean it once a week, not enough I know, it should be done daily, but its done once a week - and yes it goes black bagged into the normal wheely bin.

My kids havent been in the back garden for 2 years because thats when the dog took over it, back then we were still walking her 3/4 times a day, its only been the last 6-7 months we havent kept on top of the walking and just putting her in the garden instead.

I cant physically walk her you see, well i can but its very very difficult, and hubby comes in late from work and takes over kid sitting duty while i go straight to work, so she get walked maybe once before bedtime when i get in, so hubby can do it while im in with the kids.

    - just to clear that up! not that i need to justify myself anyway :p
  • Then get rid of both the dogs, find them good home with people who want to care for them, I know it's hard walking a dog with young children but it is possible.

    You are an utter disgrace.

How dare you speak to people in this manner.

You always have to turn a post nasty.

You are one sad, spiteful and vindictive !!!!! ( and probably frigid too! )

A dog can live without being walked if it has a garden - a dog has a routine and if it is not walked it will not expect to be walked and as long as it is looked after in all other ways (feed watered and loved) it will survive.

A puppy is a different matter as it needs exercise or it will become bored and destructive and the OP is not sure whether she can/wants to cope with a puppy's needs and is trying to decide what to do for the best for the dog and her family
