No one is suggesting she have it put down or anything just rehomed. She can't afford it and is sensible enough to realise this, she needs the money to feed the five kids which IMO is more important!Mortgage OP 2025 £7050/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

Hi MollyBear
I have a staffy, hes just turned one....little !!!!!! he is!:D
I do understand both sides of the coin here but if you cant afford to keep the pup i do think it would be in his/her best interests to be rehomed, yes the kids will miss it but is it really fair on the pup if you cant afford vets bills and what not?
My ex neighbour had a little dog...she could'nt afford his jabs so did'nt bother getting them done, he became ill, she could'nt afford the bus fare to the PDSA and after a few weeks he became so ill someone reported her and the RSPCA come and took him away, he had to be put to sleep as he had parvo (sp?):(0 -
and honestly are the 5 kids so very attached to the new dog? How much attention do they give the existing dog? It might be a better environment for the dog if it gets rehomed to a quieter home, no offence, what i mean is you shouldn't feel bad about it....
I'd argue that getting it probably wasn't the right thing in the first place, not for money reasons, but purely cause you have enough on yer plate!!
Well done again on making a tough decision for the right reasons!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -

we cant look after the one right never mind 2! my lovely back garden is now a dog toilet, my kids havent played in the garden for 2 years! its disgusting, how ive not been reported yet ill never know0 -
mollybear hon Please please speak to the breeder and even if she isn't willing to give you a refund ask her to rehome him for you.
Staffies can fall very easily into bad hands and as much as you would try to rehome him to the best possible family this breeder may well know people ready to take him on.
I am hoping to become a breeder of Bernese mountain dogs one day and a condition of sale will always be that if the pup needs rehoming that t comes back to me.
Also i'm concerned re the rott and not being wormed. I know that money is so hard right now, I really do understand that, will you qualify for RSPCA treatment? please please get atleast the worming done asap, save your loose change is poss, as this could also affect your children and pass on to them.
No one says that it is right to get rid of animals, but in tis scenario, while pup is young and won't be too traumatised, it would be best to return him to the breeder for his welfare and that of yourselves.
Lots of hugs and support in making such a tough decision.

If you can't afford /"look after"the dog you already have why did you get a second dog?
This sounds harsher than I intended it to but as a dog owner you already know how expensive thet are. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Please remember you have an obligation to ensure the pup does not suffer by your actions in any way.
