Late post from me, just taken ages to read my way through in one sitting:D
Hilstep, I'm so very sorry for your sad loss. Nothing we can say can ease your pain, but you know we're here if you want us. ((((((hugs)))))
dlb, well done!!! Your family will be thrilled with all your efforts. Hope they spoil you back in return, you deserve some spoiling:D
JackieO how lovely to hear from you. I'll second what Haribo said, you're a real inspiration to us allHave a gentle (hug)
I've had quite a productive day considering. DH was discharged from his jury service this morning, and rang me when he got back to our station to say did I want to go out for lunch. I didn't need asking a second time:rotfl: I was in the car and on my way before he'd rung off:cool: So I had a lovely lunch in an Italian restaurant (my favourite cuisine;) ). And I'm out for lunch tomorrow:j DH and I have a vineyard tour, tasting and lunch to go to tomorrow. I thought it was last Saturday, but when I went to print out the details last Friday, I found out it was tomorrow:rotfl: :rotfl: It could have been worse, it could have been for the week before, and then we'd have missed it:o
Off for a looksy around,

Hugs to tattycath, Joannasmum and chocolate orange. x
I think everyone is catching your rant bug Csarina.
GB.... You are confusing PenPen now.Imagine what you will do to her when you've been on the cooking sherry.
Have decided not to travel up to Inverness as it is still stormy and I've been feeling rubbish all day.
OH is heating up the chicken soup and HM bread for tea and then a quiet night in front of the fire planned.
Take care all. xxx0 -
Hi all. Hope all is going well for everyone, anyone who missed a hug earlier... this one's for you (((hugs)))
Not read thread. Had a very despondent day really, still really teary and went to bed for an hour earlier. Had a row with my eldest DD this evening-she treats the house like a hotel, I wouldn't have known that she has invited 2 friends round tomorrow morning if I hadn't asked her what time she is going out. I've just spent (what I consider) a fortune on some Bright coloured boots for her school trip and then once she has got what she wants she develops 'attitude'!!! so that's really p***ed me off too.
I could just scream today. I'll be glad when it's over.GE 36 *MFD may 2043

Hi
Hilstep I was so sorry to read your sad news. I've been following your mum's progress in your posts and was shocked to hear she went this morning. Reminds us how lucky we are to still have our own mums. I haven't seen mine for a month and won't for another month as she's in Australia but I'm so lucky as I know she'll be home again soon.
redruby Thank you for that lovely poem. Couldn't help but have a little cry when I read it. One of my oldest and closest friends lost her own mum when she was 5 and then lost her dad when she was 17 and it's always made me realise just how lucky I've been to have my lovely parents. Always give them both a big hug and kiss whenever we see one another, no matter where we are.
I'm so glad it's Friday, another busy day at school but I have a lovely student teacher in at the moment. She's coming close to the end of her teaching practice and it's so good to see just how far she's come with the class and she's going to be a great teacher when she qualifies.
DD2 is at a bowling party this evening and DD1 is dancing and singing around in her room, sounds like an elephant!
I had a good bit of news in the post we're going to get a refund of £130 from Lloyds TSB as we were overcharged on our mortgage exit admin fee (MEAF) when we switched mortgage provider 5 years ago! Martin gave the advice in the first episode of his fab new show and the info is on this site somewhere. So I'd recommend looking into it as I didn't think we'd be entitled to anything.
We had a chippy tea this evening as I was so tired and Dh always gets a discount as he used to teach the owner's son!:D
Have a good evening.0 -

hi chums thanks for all the hugs ,it's nice to know I'm not forgot:j I had a gentle ride in the car to my local farm shop and although I only went in for some tomatoes I came away with two bags of goodies.A lovely gammon, some packets of herbs and spices to liven up my pasta meals.I also bought some Tiptree jam which is a bit of a treat, as it's a bit pricey, but as I'm not spending a lot on much at the moment I though why not have a treat .How sad am I to get excited over a jar of pineapple jam :rotfl: I really must get out more .
Got 2kg of gorgeous tomato's for a quid so I was very happy with my bargain, plus another treat of a caramel and honey cake which looks devine .
My trip for some toms cost me 23 pounds but I have got some really nice deli-food as well.there was a Kentish cheese from Tonbridge that I tasted, and oh it was smashing, so a hunk of that went into the trolley.Thats my lot for shopping for a little while now I shall live from my cupboards for a week:D
I love going to the farm shop as you see food that looks how it used to look before the supermarkets turned everything bland. I also got half a kilo of free range pork sausages and some free range eggs as well so I think I did quite well.
Next door to there is a fresh fish shop and there was a piece of haddock stuffed with prawns and mushrooms for 1.99 so that was swiftly purchased.
I shouldn't complain really as it's the first 'proper 'shopping that I have done since Christmas..Right I'm off to watch the soaps and have some cake and a cuppa
Cheers chums:D0 -
Hi Tatty
Can totally go there with you. How old is she? My DD a total s@@@e in her teens I said black and she said white! A nightmare until she met DSIL and then went steady. She had big issues about doing things to help at home but did in fact give us dig money as moving out would have cost her a lot more!
She is my best friend, got married, given us 3 DGSs and I pity DSIL when she gets the pmt!!!!!!!
Love GB x0 -
PenPen
Refer HJ's post. We haven't come across this carrotina (carotina) before. DGS3 exhibiting huge signs turning orange. We looked back baby photos DGS2 and yes, we can see it there too from time to time but did not pick out or think a problem. DGS1 - we can't see it!!!!!!
Hope this makes sense!
