Hugs to hillstep2000 and grannyboon! Thinking of you both.
All okish here. Bit peeved at work but it's Friday and I am not going to care because it's only 5 days more for me. As Hardup Hester said - if you don't like it get out - and that's what I do. :rotfl::T
Currently writing my meal plan for next week (at work I know:o) and then go shopping to Lidl at lunchtime. Meal plan is going to be really simple - incredibly busy next week so we need quick and easy stuff.
Hope you have a good day all of you!0 -
Hilstep & Grannybroom, condolences on your loss. Hugs to you both.0

Hi there.
ANNIESTAR - try and see a dentist. NHS Direct will give the local emergency helpline number if you don't have your own dentist. NHS Direct: 0845 46 47.
REDRUBY - what a wonderful poem. It brought tears to my eyes and will bring great comfort to Hilary, I'm sure.
JACKIEO - it's great to see you again.
Anyone heard from AMIE - I don't think she's posted for a while.
Well, I'm waiting for a phone call back from someone who should have paid DH this morning and the money did not go into the bank. I had the whole week worked out financially, plus wages to pay for two of his sub-contractors, plus he won't be working next week because it will cost too much in diesel, plus it doesn't give me time to sort out some DDs, so I'm now having to chase things up. People don't work for love, do they? This is all down to a lack of communication between the company he has done the work for and their payroll department which is somewhere up north. Things never used to be so complicated in the old days when you just got cash in a little brown envelope every Friday. Anyway, I'm going to have a rant when the chap phones me - and if he doesn't phone me, I shall hound him all day!
Sorry to take it out on you all but - well, I know you know what it's like!
We have a lovely sunny but cold day here today so my washing is drying nicely - that has cheered me up slightly.
Anyway, off to phone that chap - he should have phoned me by now!
See you later.

Gentle hug to JackieO.
Finally persuaded DH to donate a desk to freecycle - it was like pulling teeth!!!!
Saw a laptop on play com that migh suit DD for a birthday and uni present so will see what she thinks. We are meeting her at the station around one fifteen as her exams have just finished so she can come home for the weekend.
DD(22) seems happy in her new job and they seem very keen to train her in as much as possible.
Will decide what to make for tea once the wanderer tells us what she fancies.
Looking forward to spoiling her- if she will let me!
See you all later"This site is addictive!"

HilStep and GrannyBoon: Sorry for your loss x.
Friday here and I had a total OS evening last night. Marinaded the big pork joint for the weekend - the marinade had smashed up juniper berries in it so it smells of gin:rotfl:and made the baklava for pudding. The syrup for that was lovely - I could have drunk it neat! Really pleased with how it looks - although the taste test is yet to come.
Was very, very tired last night, to the point of dropping things and messing up my words - that will teach me to go to the gym twice in one week! Anyway, had a good night's sleep and work is reasonably quiet today so bring on the weekend!0 -

Well my day off has been spent talking down a manically-depressed sister, listening to my mother moan on the phone, trying to stop a friend with Alzheimers from throwing away all my stuff (believe me, she's the sanest one of the lot), and shopping. I've replaced the crockery, cutlery, wine glasses and bits and bobs, stocked up on supplies for my new breadmaker (cheap flour in Lidl at the moment), and organised more cleaning stuff under the sink including plastic tubs for my borax and bicarb. I'm getting there.0
