    Morning everyone,

I`ve not had chance to catch up with yesterdays thread yet so that will be what i do whilst i have my second cuppa.
The weather is incredibly windy here today, we have had some strong wind lately but today seems far worse.
Quite a bit to do shortly including the usual,wm dw etc. i also need to put the bm on as i forgot to switch it on last night.
The hoover is going to get used a fair bit too, DH is still in bed as he is off today so will get him up shortly then i should be able to start cleaning upstairs without anyone in the way :D
Tea tonight will be a pie that i made a while ago and froze - steak, onion, mushroom and potato if i remember correctly with onion gravy.
Mmmmmm looking forward to that later.
Well i had better get going or i`ll be sat here all day.

Hilstep2000 - I am so sorry for your loss.
We are all thinking of you today xxx:grouphug: :grouphug:
Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

  • Good morning everyone

Hilstep ((((hugs)))) condolences on your sad loss. It's true - it doesn't matter how old you are, the loss of a parent is extremely painful. We are here if you need us.
grannybroon - didn't read the rest of the thread yesterday (barely sat down yesterday  ) but I believe condolences should be offered to you too. ((hugs))
Snowy my boss called me a misery this week. :D He said it was so unlike me to be so miserable that he had to say something. :rotfl: Personally I think it is lack of sunshine that is making me grumpy.

To those celebrating Burns Night - have a good one. (I'm a Scot but don't eat haggis :o - love the mash and neeps though!)

So glad yesterday is over. Long, long day. Thought I would sleep well last night but have woken up with a headache. But at least it's payday! :j :j I will pay the roofer tonight and that will be another job ticked off the list.

I'm beginning to wonder if I'm going to be left with a free bed frame as I haven't been contacted about the incomplete bed that was delivered last week. I will see what happens on Tuesday when the new bed is delivered. If they don't pick this one up, what should I do? Tesco are aware of the situation and said they would organise everything.

Plans this weekend are to clean, clean, clean. DD is meeting some primary school friends after school today so I may drag DS round the shops with me while she catches up. May even find a bargain or three. ;)

Have a fabulous Friday everyone. xx

    Thinking of you Hilary.

I dreamt that someone had broken into our garage and stolen the contents of my freezer:eek: I had a large order from the butcher this week, it's obviously been on my mind.

I've got my French class this morning, looking forward to that ;)

Breakfast-kids had porridge and toast, I had yogurt and fruit with a little honey.

Lunch -Kids and OH have ham rolls, fruit and fruitcake/banana muffins
Me -ham sandwich and carrot sticks, fruit (I think)

    Supper-Haggis, neeps and tatties
    fruit/yogurt

whiskey macs to follow later  None of us are Scottish by the way, any excuse for a feast :D
  • Definitely having haggis, neeps and tatties tonight. Hope you all have a good Burns Day.
    If I had known then what I know now . . .

    Morning Everyone

    Condolences Hilstep and GB.

Happy Burns Nights to those from over the border. Today would have been my Mum's 88th birthday, glad she never saw Dad as he is.

Feeling a bit brighter, just going to watch the Federer match. Got my own back on DH last night, with being bunged up obviously I must have been snoring slightly, he decamped to the settee around 2.30am

((hugs)) to everyone under the weather, this is my first cold for about 5 years so I'd forgot how carp it feels. Hope some sun comes your way soon I know it makes me feel better.

Must admit I found French easier than I have Spansh TL.

    Take care - DG

    morning all.
sorry havent had time to read back, rushing round doing lunch box for youngest cupborads are a bit skinny this morning re snacks, i didnt back any flapjacks or date bars. I did double lots last week and they all disappeared. daughters sulked till i said they were vegan as i'd subed the honey for golden syrup and that was it all gone and asking for more. I MUST organise a baking morning each week so that break time bars are home made rather than shop ones. last weeks mistake was baking friday and they all dissappeared over the weekend, it i do it monday or tuesday they should hang about longer.

Hugs for everyone who needs one

Son came home with 2 sponsor forms last night:mad: its only us and in laws that sponsor or buy raffle tickets i dont feel its fair to expect mates and work collegues to suppliment your chuilds school (anyway all my mates have kids at the same schools as mine so we are all in the same boat) its an unwritten rule at hubbys work that no one takes them in if one did the floodgates would open and they would have someone going round with one every week.
One is a bit crafty they have a (minor) sporting celeb come in and you get your photo taken with them if you raise a minimum amount of £2 so basically you are apying for the photo:mad: .

anyway rant over must get youngest off to school- lucky its only 2 mins away:rotfl:

  • Just a quick one, today.

Hilstep -condolences for your loss. As others have said, however old you are, it's never easy.

GBroon - not caught yesterday's thread, but hugs for you, too.

DH has a day off today, but is currently involved in a tele-conference upstairs  He feels guilty about that (I don't mind as it gives me a moment on here :T ) and has offered to take me out for lunch :j

I'm making pea soup for the weekend. DH will have a wee dram this evening (I can't face it, following a bad experience at University  :o ).

Have a great day, Penny. x
