Daily for Friday 25th Jan 08

Way hey, it's Friday!!!

Ooo need to get the sticky....here ya go....

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 25th January 2008. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Thank Crunchie it's Friday:T:T It's been a rough old week clanging the till all week. I got called a Jobsworth on Monday, and from then on it has been downhill. But it's Friday and the weekend starts v.soon, so that's alright then.

Big commiserations to those who have been having car trouble lately, especially with the hatefully large unexpected bills. Touch wood the problems get sorted out properly.

Hilstep, sorry to hear about your mum. It must be so hard for her and for everyone close to her.

Aussie, congrats on the arrival of your great-niece. Hopefully you'll be in the UK to visit her soon.

I did something silly yesterday - got home from wo*k, was changing into my house clothes, spied the bed looking all lovely and comfy so I hopped in for the proverbial
"five minutes"....but woke up literally about five hour later:rotfl::rotfl: Hence here I am all bright-eyed and bushy tailed. Maybe this extra sleep will improve my mood as I've been Miss Grumpy Drawers all week long.

Be good everyone

Snowy

GRANNYBROON sorry for your loss and hugs to your Mum too.

    Welcome new posters:hello: .

Hugs to anyone who needs one.

Thinking about cars, I really do have to take mine to see my lovely mechanic. My neighbour reckons it's my starter motor and says my other neighbour can fit it for me. Don't really want to do that as I think it's a combination of not liking the cold and needing new globe plugs:confused: . Also my neighbour isn't a mechanic. It's just lack of time at the mo plus fatcat is going in next week to have his teeth sorted so God knows how much that will be:eek: .

Am working tonight so will go to bed later. Off to Lidl to see if I can get some blueberry bushes. Need to do some studying and hoover this tip. Just can't do anything much when we're both on nights.

Think I will bung a chicken casserole in SC for tea. One load in WM and one done overnight, will hang them out in a bit.

Off for a shower, have a good day.

Mrs Mix, hope your DD is OK

Jannyannie, are you really going to peg your washing out today - listening to the wind, mine would end up in Scotland :D

Went to Asda yesterday, and managed to get a free range chicken for £5.16 which I didn't think was too bad :j

Mushrooms on toast for breakfast, left over chilli for lunch, and then spicy chicken with chips and salad for tea

    morning all,

Hurrah for friday :j :j seems to have been a long time coming this week, working till 2 today, then home for an hours clean before picking up dd.

We have pasta with garlic mushrooms and g/bread tonight, got my sainsbugs delivery last night, and all of the weighed veg was put through the till twice  , any way phoned them up and got a lovely woman, who rounded up my refund to £10 :j , so will take that off next weeks shopping.

Did anyone watch cutting edge last night ? it was about a young lad 16 or so with CF, he was a music genius, and got a scolarship at eaton, but had to take up to 50 tablets a day, and so many different injections and medicine, he is life expetency was not known, but he could go at anytime. It was really sad, and makes you think how lucky you are.

Well hope you are all well today, have good ones xx

Morning all and (((hugs))) to GRANNYBROON - so sorry.

SNOWY - you must have needed that long nap! I've done that more than once, the worst time being at a party we were giving. We had loads of guests and it was that August a couple of years ago when it was the hottest day recorded! WE had a barbecue and because it was so hot, we had paddling pools and water guns so there was a lot of running around. At about 9.30 pm I just went upstairs to change out of my shorts and just lay down to put my jeans on and, the next thing I knew, DH was waking me up! Mind you, I was the life and soul of the party then while everyone else was flagging!

MRS MIX - (((Hugs))) to your DD - hope she's OK and that the boy is properly dealt with.

Well, DH has gone and hopefully will not be ringing me up because he's run out of fuel. I was out babysitting for DS1 and DIL last night and, because DH had used my car during the day, he had left his debit card in the glove box (I don't know how many times I've told him how risky that is), so he couldn't go and fill up at the petrol station. It obviously didn't occur to him to drive round to DS1's to get his card - he would have had enough fuel for that, it's only ten minutes drive. Anyway, hopefully he's made it to the nearest open filling station.

The children were supposed to have been in bed when I got there last night but DGS couldn't get to sleep, so I lay on his bed with him and we had a long quiet chat which was lovely; it wasn't long before he had conked out. DGS was out for the count - she loves her sleep and has to be dragged out of bed in the mornings.

Anyway, off for a mooch on the comp thread then I shall do the ironing I should have done yesterday. I also need to do my food shopping later; I'm still using up all the stuff in the freezer so I'm hoping not to spend too much!

Hope you all have a great day.

Team meeting at work today, that should be fun. I'm tired of everybody being 'nice' & then bleating in the background. So I'll probably kick off & tell a few people to grow up & then leave my line manager to sort it all out, lol.
I'm sick to death of people moaning to me about things, if you don't like the job then looks for another one. We are lucky to be in anarea where there is plenty of work, the 2 main moaners are both in their 30's. Those of us over 50 all say that we don't mind what part of the job we do as long as we get paid at the end of the week. I've spent this week stuffing envelopes between photocopying as one of the team has decided she's too precious to do it!!! Ok it's boring, but then that's life.
    Sorry for the rant.
    Hugs Hester
