I wpold always start a selling account as a buying acccount until I had reached probably over 20 +ve feedbacks.

I have found the danger area for scammers is 11-13 feedbacks (usually bought cheaply) and just to get the enhanced benefits that more than 10 offer.
  • if you belive the feedback you left to be fair... then leave it and move on, and you can follow up the feedback he left you with a comment arguing against it/explaining what happened.
After you have built your feedback up to 100+ no one will notice the one little neg.... dont worry

My feedback is now 97.2%. Although I could understand people looking at the feedback description and concluding the feedback is unfair. However some people will only get as far as 97.2% and look elsewhere hence losing me actual/ potential bids/sales.

whoever buys via 100% feedback only is gonna 1 day get burned. 100% feedback doesnt state ur trustworthy or any better than a person with 0 feedback. it just shows the ppl uve dealt with are satisfied.

its the same with powersellers... some only buy off those as their 'trustworthy', when really they arent, they just sell alot. far easier for them to scam than sum1 with lower feedback, ie, genuine designer seller starts selling fakes after building up a 'good reputation'.

lower feedback seller are the ones with the bargains as many wont touch due to 'low score' or 'too many negs'. every seller is risky regardless of the feedback score they have.

leave the neg and move on.

    Cheeky git !

You can put comments on your neg feedback, maybe put the item number down or for people to email you about it.

Look at the BIN it times

  • I'd leave a follow up comment to his negative feedback and state the item number that he re-sold it as, then people will see a true reflection of the situation you found yourself in.

If they are really that bothered about your negative feedback they will look and find out what exactly happened and find that your negative was justified and that he's just another of ebay's idiot sellers.

Where are you seeing that? i've checked the sellers 30 day history and the only item he has sold was the original one, that the o/p got a second chance offer on?

Errr, hello? The seller has only sold ONE item this past 30 days?

    http://cgi6.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?MfcISAPICommand=ViewListedItems&since=30&userid=harry5819&include=0&rows=50&sort=3&completed=1

The reason the o/ps appeared as a Buy it Now is because it was a second chance offer....
  • The auction originally ended at £125 -£135 ish. I bid a max of £75 so I was surprised to get a second chance at £75. I then bought it at £75. I'm sceptical as to whether this was actually stolen or he has sold it elsewhere. He didn't seem to be making any effort to recover it despite alleging he knew who had "stolen" it.

When I placed the neg I was still angry that I'd spent alot of time and effort due to this expected purchase including joining the RAC. Maybe I shouldn't have left it whilst I was angry although leaving it helped dissipitate my anger.

For now I'll leave the neg standing although I may seek a mutual withdrawal. How long is given to request this?

    Regards

Members may initiate a request to mutually withdraw Feedback within 30 days of either person leaving Feedback or within 90 days of the transaction end date, whichever is later.
