  • Yes I know how you feel, it got right up my nose trapsing round and round and the fill up places were closed!!

Im glad Alton Towers dont check, Im going there for the easter holidays and end of may, so I will sneak mine in and see how we get on.

Went to Chessingtons today! First day open of the season!!

Very good. Had a lovely day out. Much better than Thorpe Park!!

We took our red refill capsule however the park were issueing silver ones to refill.....so we bought one, and emptied from the silver to the red and went back to refill the silver! Loads more stations to refill at too.
Polite staff, only 2 rides closed, which was a shame - Bubbleworks and Dragon Water Ride. The ques were short too, had to wait no more than 5 minutes to get on., Although the park was surprisingly busy for its first day open of the season!

The new Sealife centre is very good indeed and not a lot has changed with the zoo. Plenty to see and do, great for familys of all ages and the map is easy to read too!!

    Thumbs up to Chessingtons!!

    Sounds great Funky Monkey!

My friend was going yesterday as they wanted to check out the sealife bit.

I must get a shifty on and sort out the vouchers and exchange them for the Merlin ones! Then I too can visit all these fab places and Chessington is our nearest only about 20 mins away...yipee!
  • sounds like a good day funky :T

we went to alton towers and had a fab time! the cable cars are still broken though, so there's lots of walking. they are still selling red coke cups, some with straws and some with sports caps so there was no problem with getting ours refilled. they still don't ask for receipts.

Im pleased they dont ask for recipts - probably because chessingtons and thorpe park are miles away. anyway, if it works will save a fivers, and lots of juice to keep us going all day!!

  • If anyone is really into theme parks like Chessingtons & Thorpe Park, then take a look at these websites. They offer a lot of information that their own websites dont hold!!
    http://www.southparks.org/
    http://www.themeparks-uk.com/chessington_guide.html

Hope it helps someone! Has information about a new rollercoaster coming to Thorpe Park 2009, and has the plans and pics etc.

  • alton towers don't charge for the park map either - we had to pay last time we went to thorpe/chessington.

i just saw a TV as about chessington, it mentioned a sealife centre. is it included as part of the park, or would i not be allowed in with my old-style pass (does not include legoland or chessington).

  • Just got back from Legoland. We had the same concerns as everyone else on this thread. We paid 2 x £23.50 in vouchers for two Annual passes. At the time we thought it was a great deal even without the Legoland access. We then found out at the end on January that the pass was changing to the Merlin pass. We contacted the annual pass phoneline and were told that the £23.50 vouchers would be honoured if exchanged after the 9th Feb. We waited and planned to change them on the first trip to Legoland. We say this thread and read on the Merlin Annual Pass website that we would have to pay £15 each to upgrade. Small price to pay we thought.

    BUT........

We went today. Exchanged our Merlin Pass Vouchers with no upgrade fee and are now proud owners of the all singing all dancing Merlin Annual Passes:T :j :T :j :T
