  • i've been today and they've changed the rule about having to pay for children when they're a metre tall - it's now free for children under 4 :T

  • Hi have been reading with interest as i sent off for my vouchers in January didn't realise they where going to change the passes! Haven't had a chance (waiting for weather to be a bit warmer!!) to get our passes yet, so was debating whether or not to send back the vouchers and get the upgraded ones and risk them getting lost in the post or to just keep the ones we have, probably won't usually bother with Legoland as kids are a bit to big (11 and 15) although the Easter entertainment look good! would only cost an extra £16-00 in clubcard vouchers rather than £60-00 cash. Very disapointed with Tesco for not honouring an upgrade for those who got their vouchers before it all changed, would of waited and saved the hassle! Has anyone else changed their Tesco's vouchers to passes lately?
  • does anyone know if i can send one of my pass vouchers back to tesco and ask for a refund, or exchange into something else such as drayton manor tickets?

  • i ordered 3 passes (2 adults, 1 child 5yrs) and my vouchers turned up saying includes legoland and Sealife.

Really pleased I got these as we as a family couldnt afford regular visits to these parks, maybe once a year or so.

So now we have them we plan to do some serious bonding time and already we have booked easter for alton towers (including 19 quid per night hotel for all three of us!!) and also end of May bank holiday (again 19 quid a night for all three of us).

We live about an hour away from Chessingtons/Thorpe park and we are going tomorrow to change them over at Thorpe park for the real thing! yippe cant wait. hope the weather holds off!! Really looking forward to going.

    :D

I really dont know but i would suggest phoning customer services and asking for advise.

I ordered 3 tickets for Drayton Mannor as its close to Alton Towers and going there too over the Easter period. Going to have a 'hair-rasing' weekend, me thinks!

  • Just one last thing.............

If anyone needs to phone one of the theme parks, they have 0870 numbers to call which cost a fortune.

you can look their number up on www.saynoto0870.com and do a search for their geographical number. Its a great site. Thorpe Park, Chessingtons, and Alton Towers are all listed there.

    Have fun xxx

  • i called customer services and they said i could send the voucher back for a refund ... but because my husband and i both have an account, and i put the vouchers in the same envelope, i can't tell if the one i will send back was his or mine. she said if i send the wrong one back they will get annoyed about us having 2 accounts and might suspect foul play - ooops!

perhaps i can sell it on ebay, but it's the old-style voucher. i see they're not selling too well though.

funky monkey i hope you have a great time. drayton manor has an amazing drop tower, truly terrifying :D

Funkymonkey - we are exactly the same - we couldnt afford to visit very often if we didnt have the passes through Tesco (I made a point of saying this in the questionnaire Merlin sent out before Christmas asking all about Annual Passes).

They are also fantastic for school holidays, especially now with SeaLife - great for a free day out.

People who have phoned Merlin about this problem have been told - I think - that if you pay the extra £15 in cash when buying your Passes you will get the new version. So you wouldn't have to send them back to Tesco in that case, if you want the new Merlin Pass.

It might be worth phoning Merlin or the attraction you want to buy the Passes at, to double-check what they are advising about this.

But i you do send the Deals back to Tesco Freetime (Crawley), can you not just send one or both Deals back with a letter saying 'as discussed please can you reissue this/these as xxxx Deal instead'. State both cc numbers on the letter (if returning just one of the deals just explain that you cannot tell which of your accounts it relates to, & both of you sign the letter) - how can they accuse you and OH of foul play!?

If your new choice of Deals cost less in vouchers, they should credit any 'change' back to your clubcard points balance for the current quarter.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • she said we shouldn't both have an account, and that they were cracking down on such 'abuse'.

we don't actually want the new pass with legoland etc- we are happy with the old one. alton towers staff confirmed it will also work in portaventura in spain :D

the reason i have a spare is because i thought i would need a pass for my 2 year old this year due to him being a metre tall, but now it's changed and under 4's don't need pass. so it's just a bonus really, and i will probably get a pass for my nephew or a friend of my son's from school.
