Is everyone's Caller Display working already? I ordered mine nearly 48 hours ago but nothing's happening. Then again, I also signed up for the free answering service 1571 so perhaps that's slowing things down...

Ordered mine Sunday night and my phone started logging calls Tuesday lunchtime.

They do say it'll take upto 3 days to be activated, so you've got another 2 days.

I suppose the way to test it is to try ringing your home phone from your mobile.

Make sure you have your mobile set to send your ID or it won't show the number. You'll just get a generic message such as 'Private' or 'number withheld'

    all telewest users!

i read this post with interest, i rang up telewest and told them of the bt free caller display offer, I also explained i just cancelled my caller display with them a couple of days ago, and hey presto they are knocking £18 off my phonebill (A years worth of caller display) as caller display with telewest is only £1.50 a month

I am a very happy bunny now!

I am from Ni and after reading this post I phoned BT on 150. They were not aware of the offer initially. They went and checked it out and came back and asked was I willing to receive marketing calls from BT and if so I could get it caller display free. i think I do this anyway. So I get it free. By the way I am with talk talk so I only pay BT line rental.

I ordered mine as well, and nothing's appeared. My phone (Philips Kala 300 Vox) does say it supports CLI, so something presumably should appear?

The BT caller display service is now free. BT are notifying all customers but you can jump the gun by going to:

    http://www.bt.com/btprivacy/

This is a saving of £21 a year if you are currently using the service.

To qualify you must make some calls through BT.

I would say 2 or more = some. But it doesn't say over what period. I use 18866 too but if I have to ring an 0870 or 0845 number then I use BT. If you don't make any 0870 or 0845 calls then it won't cost you much to make a couple of off peak calls a month using BT (5p for up to an hour I think).
