To Hunnymonster - my number was given originally by NTL and ported back to BT.

I guess that's why BT's automatic systems barf then - they'll see it as an NTL-owned number (check your number at https://www.ukphoneinfo.com - you'll see what I mean)

Got this working on my Dect phone today. I'm with Onetel CPS too. Anyone tell me what prefix I have to use to use BT network for the odd call so that this service is free. Cheers

No longer a user, goodbye folks. PLEASE delete my account. Thank you

Just dial 1280 and you'll be using BT.

    Hi Lillibet,

Look at BT Privacy at Home FAQ number 7 and 8 etc

    7. I'm already paying for Caller Display, what happens when I take up BT Privacy at Home?

You will no longer pay for Caller Display if you continue to make some calls with BT.

If you are renting Caller Display as part of the BT Calling Features packs, any change to your rental charges will be adjusted automatically. You may, of course, want to replace Caller Display with another feature from the range of services available. You can do this when you sign up for BT Privacy at Home online.

just use prefix 1280 in front of the number and the call will go via BT
